100 degrees yet I'm still getting chills. I feel like my body is malfunctioning. "Hey, you wanna come out of there anytime soon?" Phoenix asked and nudged my foot. I was laying on my stomach with my face in the pillow and the blanket covering all of me.
"No." I say into the pillow.
"Why not?"
"Dead."
"What if I said I had donuts?" Donuts!? Where!? Wait...
"Do you?"
"No, but it was worth a shot." I took a deep breath so he could see it. "Can I pull the blanket off you? Sorry, may I?"
"Dead."
"I'm taking that as a yes." He said before whipping the blanket off me.
"No! It's cold!" I say and sit up. Phoenix has with him two plates. Both with toast and berries. There's also two cups which is either milk or water. Hopefully not Charlie's messed up tea.
"How are you cold if you have a fever? You weirdo." He said and passed me the plate and cup. Inside was not milk nor water.
"What is this?"
"Tea." I stare at it, remembering the taste of yesterday's. "Don't worry, I made it."
"Oh good." I say and drink some. The sweet honey flowed down my throat smoothly and let a warm feeling in my belly. The minty aftertaste made me feel better as well. I keep my grip on the cup as my hands are freezing. As are my feet.
"What's on today's agenda?" Phoenix asked and chomped down on the toast. I picked up my own and noticed the glisten of butter on it. Actually, it could also be margarine. It's alright, but damn is it fat.
"I don't know. Trying not to die and maybe planning." I shrug and take a bite of the toast. It isn't all that fresh so instead of a crunch it just squishes. Nothing is worse for toast that it to not be crispy. I don't care if it's slightly burnt as long as it's not squishy.
"Spider!" May screamed from across the hut. I turn my head and see her standing and petrified.
"I got it." Charlie said and then he was standing and holding a spider by it's thread. Seriously, it was just dangling there like it was frozen in time. "Hey, June, wanna hold it?" He teased and held it out to me.
"Ew! No!" I move back and my back hits the wall.
"You sure?" He said and pulled along it's thread to keep it from touching the ground.
"I swear that I will blast that spider into oblivion." I warn. He laughs a bit before taking that freakish demon outside.
"Don't like spiders?" Phoenix chuckled.
"No." I say sarcastically and move back to my plate. "Those things are so weird with their eight legs and eyes." I shutter.
"You have to give them props though. It must take some serious hand-eye coordination. Well, leg-eye."
"They're still creepy." I mutter and eat a blueberry.
"Says the one who's a thousand times it's size."
"Can we not talk about spiders?"
"Sure. What do you want to talk about than?"
"Mmm." I hummed as "I don't know."
"How about your arm? Can I see it?"
"Um, sure." I set down my toast and hold out my arm. The lower half is fine but the upper half looks like it came from war. A large scar runs down the side of it and light burn scars are at the back.
