Three days later...
"And that's it. You're free to go." The nurse, Lacey, told me after taking one last blood sample from me. I also found out from Omega that she's her aunt from her father's side.
"Really? That's it?" I ask as I hold the cotton ball to my arm.
"Mhm. Every month we'll have to check up on you. It'll be the same as how this went. We'll try our best to come up with a cure, June." She smiled.
"Thanks, Lacey." I say and hop off the bed. "I may drop by to say hi to Omega."
"Oh she'll love that. She didn't have any friends until you and the others came along."
"I know." I nod as she hands me my clothes. "Aren't they hunting right now?"
"I believe so... Should be back by noon."
"Okay, thanks again!" I wave and open the door. It's really starting to get cold now. I shiver and hold my clothes to my chest. What is it? Mid-October? Yah, I think a sweater won't work anymore. Gonna need to start wearing my coat more. Maybe even get a scarf.
I open the door to the hut and all the guys are gathered in a circle on the floor. "Go fish." Everyone said and Bear reached into the pile of cards in the middle.
"Um, hey guys." I sheepishly wave. They all turn to me and their eyes light up like Christmas trees.
"June! You're back!" Charlie said with his arms in the air.
"How is everything?" Dad asked.
"Good. I should be fine. Just have to go back every month."
"As long as I get to see my little grandchildren running around a field of flowers, then it's fine by me." He smiled.
"I don't think I really want to have children." I shake my head. "I can barely take care of myself. Let alone a child."
"Nonsense! Our race is resting on your shoulders now."
"Then why did you only have one kid!?"
"Well I couldn't bare to have any children that didn't belong to your mother as well." With that, the others erupted in awes. I rolled my eyes and went over to my stuff by Phoenix's. It was untouched down to the half zipped zipper of my bag.
"It's been lonely here without you." Phoenix said and leaned into my view.
"How? You have Go Fish and Isaiah's stories to entertain you." I say as I pack my clothes into my bag.
"Exactly." He groaned. "Iridescent says you're gonna do some dress fitting today."
"We are?" I tilted my head and tried to remember. "Oh yah! We are! Sorry, I lost a good five milliliters of blood."
"Poor thing. Would you like a bandage for your boo boo?" He joked.
"Outside might of froze the hole already."
"Why don't you get your coat then?"
"Ah yes. I'll go to the cave to get my coat so I'll be able to go to the cave. Stupid." I say and get up.
"Have fun standing for ages as they measure every part of yourself that you're insecure about."
"Don't worry, I will." I said as he opened the door for me. "Bye guys!"
"Bye!" The group said.
"Gah! This game is rigged!" Isiah yelled and threw down his cards.
"Better leave now we start playing Blackjack. Bye, kitten." Phoenix said and gave me a quick hug with one arm. Then I coldly ran to the cave.
