4 ❣ Movies and Pigs

Maybe this was fate. I've been delaying it for the whole time-getting in trouble and facing detention-that it was time to finally have to face it. So when that rooftop door opened, there was a rush of adrenaline going through the veins of my body.

"Shh," Jihoon quietly told me.

As early as now, I was trying to think of a good excuse to tell my parents when they find out I have detention on the first day of senior life. What could I tell them? That I was a curious girl and tried to unlock the mysteries of the new student? I might as well get my grave ready as early as now.

At least I didn't die today. Or that's what I think. Maybe I didn't exactly, really die and end my life that way, but I might be dead later at home if I really get in trouble here. I don't want to. Please, the magical unicorn, listen to my wish and grant it. I do not want to get in trouble today, tomorrow or any other day.

"Funny, I thought I heard a girl screaming here..." the same gruff voice said, now on the same floor as we were.

I could easily see him from the small tiny hole of where Jihoon and I were hiding. I stepped in closer, smashing my face lightly on Jihoon's chest, feeling like I was about to scream. I tried not to, though. When I say I don't want to get into trouble, I really don't want to get into trouble.

"Well, I guess no one's here. Aigoo, I must be turning so old that I'm hearing things." Finally, the man left, thinking he was just hearing things.

We didn't leave our hiding spot immediately. In fact, we stayed there for a few more seconds just to be safe. Afterwards, I stumbled out ofthe hiding place and put a hand over my heart.

"Oh my gosh," I said, "that was close!"

Jihoon didn't say anything in reply and just walked straight to the door, pulling it open and slowly walking out of the rooftop.

"Hey!" I said in a softer voice. Like a shout whisper. "Yah, wait for me! Let's go down together!"

Jihoon was ahead of me but I tried to quickly catch up with him.

"What were you doing there? Why were you alone? Don't you have friends? Weren't you hungry? Didn't you go to the canteen? I think you did, though. I saw you head out of the canteen. But why did you come here? Where did you get the key? Why are you so mysterious? Why's your hair colour like that? Not to be offensive. I really like it. But why'd you dye it to that?"

Jihoon didn't reply to any of my questions. I guess I was a little too curious. But it's not like I would stop asking if he never replied tome.

"Yah, Lee Jihoon! Why won't you answer me?" I asked him, tugging along behind him.

He stopped in his tracks, which made me stop as well. He turned around and leaned in closer and asked me, "Why are you so curious, huh?"

"Because I'm a curious girl. So, while you're still talking, answer my first ever question for you: why'd you dye your hair to that colour?"I asked him, grasping this opportunity. It's not like it'll come back another time, right?

He sighed and just quickly walked away with a hand in his pocket.

Aiish, that guy. He should know as early as now that I wasn't going to back down from this and that I was going to keep asking him questions. He sits right behind me, which was a good thing. It also felt like Mr. Hwan wasn't keen on changing up places, so I have the advantage.
