7 ❣ A Picturesque Moment

It was a Saturday morning that day and I was taking Suin out to shop around. Mom would be attending a small gathering with her friends while Dad was working. Suin and I took this opportunity to just go window shopping together. Or actual shopping. 

I lifted Suin's hand that held mine and asked her before we crossed the street, "Do you want to get something to eat?"

Suin looked up and nodded with a bright smile. "Nae, unnie! Can we buy ice cream?"

I gave it a thought. I was little afraid of buying ice cream because Mom might scold her for eating it and me for buying it. But I couldn't say no to my little sister. Leaning in closer to her ear, I whispered, "Only if you keep it a secret."

Suin smiled a mischievous smile and extended out her pinky. "I won't tell Mom or Dad anything."

I giggled back and quickly walked her down the street when the lights finally signaled that we were safe to walk. First, we headed into a convenient store and picked out some good but cheap ice cream and walked around the empty mall.

It was a Saturday morning so not many people would be up and awake right now. They're probably still sleeping in but here Suin and I are, eating ice cream and enjoying another day as it goes by. 

We sat down on the bench that coiled around the big pillar and watched as a security guard chased a cat out of the mall. Suin and I looked at each other and giggled. 

"It's so nice to have a day like this," I said, crumpling the empty ice cream wrapper and throwing it into the bin nearby. 

Suin was gladly enjoying her ice cream with a giddy smile on her face.

I pinched her cheeks. "Aigoo, are you that happy you're eating ice cream?"

She nodded, which made me squeeze her cheeks a little more. 

"You're adorable," I said in a baby voice as I patted her bangs. I really love Suin and how she was still innocent and pure. Unlike the teenage mess we're going through. Life used to be easy and magical when we were still kids. 

"Unnie, after this, can we go check out that store? I saw a pretty pink clip!" Suin said, pointing at the store that was three stores away from the bakery I visited Jihoon with. 

"Okay, Suin. Eat up first," I said, giving her another pat on her head as I watched her finish up her ice cream. 

After Suin was done, we threw the wrapper away and headed into the store Suin wanted to go into. We were looking around the crown hair clips. Suin seemed to have fallen in love with them.

"Unnie! It's so pretty!" she said, jumping up and down excitedly as she looked in the mirror, holding the clip high up.

"Nae, it is," I replied with a big smile then looked down the aisle, where I spotted something. More like someone. "Oh, Suin-a, stay here for a while. I need to go check on something. Stay some place where I can see you."

"Okay!" she answered, putting the clip down then checking another one out. I swear, she seems like she's in paradise. 

I walked down the aisle and waved a hand in front of the cashier. "Annyeong!"

He looked up, surprised washed over his face. 

"Wae? Surprised to see me?" I teased, checking on Suin.
