17 ❣ A Trip Down Memory Lane

"Min Jae! Omo, look at how much you have grown! You look lovely!" Mrs. Jeon said when she spotted me and Suin in the lobby of their apartment. Wonwoo lived ten minutes away from our place and in this fancy apartment which was incredibly huge.

I bowed at Mrs. Jeon. "Kamsahabnida, ahjumma. You haven't changed one bit. You still look beautiful."

Mrs. Jeon giggled a lively giggle and gave me a brief hug then turned her attention to Suin. "Omo! Suin has grown so much! One year sure is a long time, huh?"

I nodded and nudged Suin and whispered to her, "Deep bow, Suin."

Suin looked at me with flickering eyes then turned back to Mrs. Jeon and bowed. "Kamsahabnida, ahjumma."

I was a little worried for Suin. She wasn't fully cured yet and I was taking as much care for her during nights when Mom and Dad are out working. I managed to earn 50, 000 won from my part-time job but I need 50, 000 more and give it to Mom and Dad. Hopefully it can help with their problem.

"Ah, and my Mom and Dad will come a little later. They needed to go somewhere for a while," I added.

"Ah, keurae? Arasso. Come, come. Let's go into our apartment. Wonwoo is waiting for you, Min Jae-a," Mrs. Jeon told me as she held Suin by the hand and headed to the elevator.

To hear that Wonwoo was waiting for me, I didn't know what to expect. I know for a fact that he's back after a sudden disappearance and I should feel happy. Since he came back, we should start over.

Hi, nice to meet you. How have you been?

When Mrs. Jeon went on about their trips and about Wonwoo and I when we were younger, I didn't even notice that we already arrived here at their apartment front door. Their apartment door was located at the very end of the hallway, right next to a big window which could overlook the neighborhood. Lucky him. He has a nice view to look at whenever he goes out or come back home.

"Min Jae-a!" Wonwoo greeted when he opened the door. Mrs. Jeon and Suin went inside first while I was left outside with Wonwoo.

"Wonwoo, annyeong!" I greeted back with a bright smile. "How are you doing? I forgot to ask you that question when I saw you in Secret Station."

"I'm doing fine, Min Jae-a." Wonwoo then took a step forward and pulled me into a hug. Feeling uneasy, I quickly broke from the hug. "Waeyo? It's just a hug."

I avoided looking at him and answered, "I... I feel uncomfortable if you hug me like that."

"Don't hold my hand. I feel uncomfortable if you do."

"A-ah? Keurae? Mian," Wonwoo apologized.

I looked up at him and said, "Don't apologize. It's my fault I'm uncomfortable. I'm sorry."

"You're still uncomfortable after all these years?" he asked me softly.

I looked away again, switching my attention to the outsides and the view from where we were standing. "I never knew the place was this beautiful. I've always known it was beautiful, but looking at it this way, it's really beautiful."

Wonwoo looked like he wanted to say something else but only nodded in reply, agreeing to what I was saying. "Of course it's beautiful. It'd be silly of people like us not to notice it, and to destroy it. We can't exactly buy nature back."
