22 ❣ The Winter's Storm

It was snowing.

Finally, after the long anticipated snowy season and lots of colds catching and spreading around, the first snow finally dropped.

I learned from a drama that if the first snow falls, someone will or has to be forgiven. In this case, I'm forgiving Sungcheol from accidentally throwing that fake cockroach into my room.  He clearly knows I'm afraid of those things, so why'd he do it?

Of course, for fun, as he would put it.

Exams were already done and over and I got a perfect score in Korean and English. The other marks, it was about an average score. Because of that, my mom bought me a new hoodie jacket that I could use whenever I go to sleep in this cold weather.

Next week was our entrance exam for college applications. I was nervous and kept overthinking the thought that I might never get into a good college. I got stressed from that and ended up getting sick because I wasn't thinking very well.

But because of that incident, I found a new way to relieve my stress. Adults would drink soju and all those alcoholic drinks, but I ate extra spicy food so my mind wouldn't think much about whatever I was stressing over.

It blocks out all other thoughts and all I could think about is water.

"Exams are in a week," I said to Jihoon, playing with the pen I was holding by tapping on his table, "how are you feeling about it?"

"Scary," he answered.

I frowned at him.

"What?"

"That was a short answer," I said, pouting as I gently slapped the pen down on the table. It was quite awkward sitting next to Soonyoung, to be completely honest. So I always turn around to talk to Jihoon. "I'm scared, nervous and stressed over it."

"We all are," he said. "Our senior times are slowly ending, have you noticed?"

"Yes," I breathed and looked around the room. "I'll miss looking around this classroom. I'll miss that tteokbokki smell—Wait. Tteokbokki?!"

Jihoon laughed out a small laugh and shook his head. "Are you always hungry, Seo Min Jae?"

"Only when I am, Lee Jihoon," I reasoned out, sticking my tongue out playfully. I looked around the classroom and spotted one of our classmates eating tteokbokki. I watched them with envy. "Aish, look at them enjoying that."

Jihoon laughed again. "It's almost lunch time anyway, Min Jae. You can eat by then."

I turned back to him and smiled a silly smile. "Keurae? I guess I can wait... Oh, nope. I heard my stomach. It's going to eat itself soon."

"Tsk. Tsk. Tsk," he said, shaking his finger in front of my face. "Seo Min Jae eats like a pig, but somehow remains really thin. What's your secret?"

"My secret?" I thought about it and then grinned, "Eat more to eat less!"

Jihoon playfully pushed my head away. "Aigoo, aigoo."

I was about to say something but Mr. Hwan entered the class and told us to sit back down. I turned back around to face Mr. Hwan. I ignored the fact Soonyoung was staring at me. I could easily see it from the corner of my eye.

"Ja, your entrance exams are next week," Mr. Hwan began, followed by the groans of students. "Settle down, you rascals. The faster it comes, the faster you'll deal with it and the faster you'll be over with it."
