The girls awoke to nighttime again. They yawned and stretched. "What time is it?" Mariana asked.

Taylor shrugged and let go of Mariana's hand to check her phone.

"It's eight o'clock at night."

Mariana nodded, even though Taylor couldn't see her.

"Alright," Mariana huffed, getting to her feet. "Let's have breakfast, then we can head off. 'Kay?"

"M'kay." Taylor agreed, standing up as well.

Mariana headed over to the stream and she and Taylor did the same routine as the day before.

They ate bland oat cereal out of a plastic container and used the same container to drink the water. When they had their fill, they filled the two containers with water and put it back into their backpacks, one in each.

When they were done, Mariana took out her phone and pointed the way.

"How much does your phone have?" Mariana asked Taylor as they were walking side-by-side.

"98%. You?"

"54%. You should shut down your phone to save the battery. When my phone dies, we'll use yours. 'Kay?"

"Yeah, good idea."

Taylor held down the power button and shut off her phone, slipping it in her bag.

When she finished, silence fell.
