Mariana and Taylor walked into the dining room and Taylor hoped they would only be feasting with the king- no subjects.

Scarlett excused herself while they were walking, saying she knew the way, and she just needed to go to the bathroom.

Taylor knew that the boys had come back. Again, Mariana believed her sister and continued her way to the dining room, Taylor being dragged along.

Mariana looked at the long, empty table and sat as far from the king as possible, Taylor following. She sat to the seat on the right of Mariana, and she knew Taylor would take the left.

The two sat and looked at one another.

"So..." Mariana began. "Any new ideas?"

Taylor was silent. She couldn't lie to Mariana. She never could. She would always know. But in Finger Code she could!

Taylor reached for Mariana's arm but she pulled it away. "Tell me. Don't do the language. Nobody is here." Her body stiffened and twitched as she spoke.

Taylor said nothing. "Either with the Finger Code or not."

Mariana smiled evilly, then dropped it quickly, only to have it form again. Her body seemed to tighten even more and twitch every five seconds. "So what's the idea?"

Inside, Taylor was in panic. She couldn't let Mariana know. Taylor tried to be casual. "There is no idea. I was just gonna tell you to watch what you say. He might me here."

"Watch what I say? What would I say wrong?" She asked, her body starting to spasm.

Taylor looked at her best friend, nervous. This has never happened before. Is the Fairy King's power getting stronger? Is he doing this?

"Nothing." Taylor answered, turning to the door as it opened.

Mariana stopped her twitching and her body relaxed again. "Taylor-" She began, but stopped when she was the two elven boys.

"Hey guys!" She greeted smiling. Her smile fell when she saw they were in armor. Merlyn and Rydel had daggers strapped to their waists, and metal armor hugging their bodies perfectly.

Even Scarlett was dressed in armor. It fit her, but not as perfectly as Rydel and Merlyn's armor fit them. She even had a sword strapped to her hip.

Mariana whimpered. "Um... Guys? Why are you... Why are you in armor? With-" She swallowed hard, "daggers and a sword?" She squeaked, shrinking in on herself.

"Mariana? What's wrong?" Taylor asked.

"You do know that he can hurt me, right? If he sees you..." Mariana shivered, probably thinking about the last time.

Scarlett and the boys looked between themselves, now uncertain if they should go through with their plan.

They didn't have much chance to choose for just then, the fairy staff bustled in, dressing the table in food.

The armored friends quickly sat at the table close to Mariana as they bustled around, muttering words in the Fairy tongue. Rydel and Merlyn cracked small smiles, understanding a few phrases.

"They do not like the Fairy King. He is... Very cruel, they say." Merlyn whispered to Taylor and Rydel whispered the same thing to Scarlett.

When the table was covered in a banquet of food, the Fairy King finally came in.

He sat down in his seat and frowned in seeing everyone as far from his as they could be.

"Why don't you sit closer?" He asked them, gesturing to the seats near him.
