Chapter 8
It was half term holiday already, it was around October and Matt and I had been a lot closer. We usually talked, about him, about life, about love. We didn’t need to do anything exotic, we just talked and that’s what we both wanted.
‘’are you coming round to mine tonight?’’ I asked as I tossed my books in the locker as the bell chimed.
‘’I want to go somewhere today,’’ Matt said as he leaned against the wall waiting for me.
‘’sure, where?’’
‘’I don’t know, somewhere before half term properly starts,’’ he said with a small smile.
I was still working on getting him to smile, but I couldn’t.
‘’I’m gonna be free for the whole half term, but I’d love to do something with you today,’’ I beamed at him as we walked out of the school building.
‘’you’re free for the whole half term?’’ he asked again a small smile tugging at his lips.
‘’that’s what I said,’’ I said with a wry smile as I climbed into my car with Matt.
‘’then will you spend your half term with me?’’ he asked his face flushed as if he was embarrassed.
‘’of course,’’ I agreed happily. ‘’but for now where do you want to go?’’
‘’I remember how you said you liked track…’’ he looked at me with hopeful eyes.
‘’you want to go for a jog?’’ I asked a grin spreading across my face.
He nodded, his blue eyes shining for once.
‘’then we’ll go for a jog as soon as I change at home,’’’ I said as I cranked up the engine and left the school.
After changing and eating a banana we got our water and started down the pathway. We jogged round the whole neighbourhood; it was about a mile or two long. We jogged side by side, I could hear our pants as we reached the two mile sign, but we continued jogging, just rounding back to where we came from and jogging again.
After jogging for 2 miles and a half we both came to a halt panting heavily. We walked for the rest of the half mile trying to get our breath back. Our heart rate soon went back to normal in a few minutes time.
‘’good job,’’ he said smiling.
‘’you too,’’ I said still a bit panty.
When we reached my house I tossed him a frozen pineapple slice and got myself one too, then sucking on one each we flopped on the coach and skimmed through the TV channels.
‘’maybe we could do that again some other time?’’ I asked with my hopes up.
He chuckled. ‘’sure,’’

‘’Sophia! There’s someone at the door for you!’’ mom screamed up the stairs.
It was the first day of my half term holiday and I was already being dragged out of bed. The clock read 9:00. What the heck?
I stumbled down the stairs still wiping the sleep from my eyes, and then standing in the living room awkwardly was Matt.
‘’oh hey matt, what’s up?’’ I asked yawning.
‘’sorry, I didn’t realize you were still asleep,’’ he apologized.
‘’nah it’s fine, not meaning to seem rude, but why are you here?’’
