Chapter 16: free now

Avril's **POV**

Luke as I just sat there for about an hour. We sat in silence my music playing softly. He was playing with my hair as I rested on his chest. I love how safe I felt with him. I new that when ever Luke was around nothing bad would happen. I heard his phone go off.

"Hello....yeah...ok cool see you there...bye" he said hanging up.

"That was Kane. It's almost 3pm and I have to head back home now." He said.

"But I'm not leaving you here alone. So your coming back with me." I nodded in response, happy that he wasn't going to leave me. I swiftly climbed down the tree, Luke following right behind. He had had plenty of experience climbing trees thanks to me.

Turns out lukes place was just around the corner too. When we walked in, he led me down to the kitchen. He made me a glass of apple juice.

"Thanks" I mumbled.

"Um I was wondering if I could maybe take a shower quickly?" I asked awkwardly.

"Yeah sure, come I'll show you where the bathroom is and I'll get you a change of clothes." He said linking his fingers with mine. He led me to a set of stairs as the back of the house. We went up them and I saw what was clearly a door to Lukes room and another door that led to Kane's room. "That's the bathroom down the end and I'll leave you some clothes." Luke said pulling me into hug.

"Thanks Luke, it good knowing that I have someone here for me again."

I sat on the edge of the bathroom sink singing along to Free Now by Sleeping With Sirens as it played on my phone. I looked up to see Luke standing a the door holding a pair of track suit pants and a top and jumper.

"Thanks Lukey." I said jumping down. I grabbed them and shut the door. I turned the hot water on straight away. While it heated up I fumbled around the bathroom looking for a towel. I quickly stripped off and jumped into the shower, letting the hot water burn my skin.

I just stood there thinking. How could Brooklyn no about me? How could she possibly no about my past?

I snapped back to reality. I turned the water off and dried off quickly.

I laughed as I pulled on the pants Luke had given me. They were really loose on me, and the top was no better. It was a simple grey drop dead shirt. I pulled the jumper over the top and made my way back down stairs.

Luke.M's **POV**

She was just sitting there, on the edge of the sink, softy singing to her self. She looked up at me standing in the doorway. She gave me a sad smile as she took the cloths from me. There was something that she wasn't telling me. I could see it, there was something there behind everything that was holding her down. She shut the door but I could still hear her voice, muffled by the door, but still beautiful as always.

I headed down stairs and sat on the couch, watching the guys play COD.

About 20 minutes later I heard footsteps coming down the hallway. I turned to see Avril walking to towards us. The jumper I had given her seemed to hang loosely around her. She had the sleeves pulled over her hands, something that she did quite a lot. The pair of pants that I have given her were to big for her too, but she didn't seem to mind.

She walked over to me and sat in my lap.

"You look nice in my clothes." Kane commented glimpsing at av quickly.

"Thanks, Luke gave them to me." She laughed.

"We'll truthfully there his pants and the jumpers mine, and well I don't no what top your wearing...that is if your wearing one." Kane said smiling.

Av picked up one of the pillows beside us and threw it at Kane, hitting him directly in the head.

"Don't be mean!" He whined.

"We'll don't be rude" av and I said in sync. I laughed as she highfived me.

We sat there for about half an hour swapping players every now and then.

"Jaaaaack!!!" Avril said dragging out the 'a'.

"What" He asked not looking away from the tv screen. It was currently his shot and he was versing Kane and myself.

"I'm hungry. Can you get me food" she said bouncing up and down.

"I'm busy."

"Yeah actually I'm kinda hungry too." I added.

"We'll then go grab something, it's your house, you no where everything is." He told me.

"Fine, Mav play for me." I said shoving the controller at him. Mav instantly dove into the game.

"C'mon you" I said offering a hand to pull av up with. She stuck her lip out pouting, I felt a smile break out onto my face. I bent down and pulled her up into a piggy back, carried her down to the kitchen. She sat upon the bench top with her legs crossed.

"So what would you like to eat?" I asked going through the cupboards. I felt something hit my back. I spun around to see av sitting there smiling at me. I looked down to see a pack of mi goreng at my feet. I let out a little chuckle.

"Alrighty then I'll get a start." About 5 minutes later, the noodles were cooking and I was currently sitting on the bench with av. There was a silence between us, it wasn't awkward but was slowly becoming it. Think, think, think of something to say...

"So Av, how's Travis?" Of all the millions of thing to say and thats the one thing that I say. Bravo Luke. I looked up at av when she didn't answer.

"Av?"

"Wha?" She asked confused.

"You ahh spaced out." I told her.

"Oh sorry" She apologized brushing her hair out if her eyes.

"Um what did you say?" She asked a tint of pink appearing on her cheeks.

"Um I asked how Travis is going." I repeated.

"He's great..."

Avril's **POV**

....yeah he's doing really well." It wasn't a lie, the stupid peasant was doing great. He was having a great time fucking that stupid, ruining my life.

"That's good to hear." I smiled at lukes comment he had never really liked Travis. He never admitted it but it was clear. I don't get why though. Travis started acting up after Luke and Kane left. He new that if he did anything to me with the boys around he would get bashed.

I still didn't make sense. I watched as Luke jumped off the bench towards the stove. He walked back over to me carrying 2 bowls. He passed one to me as he took a seat on on of the bar stools next to me, I was still sitting up I the bench though.

I had just finished eating he I ward my phone go off. I jumped off the bench to go and get it from the lounge room. The guys were so focused on the games, that they didn't even notice me come in. I headed back down the hall way to Luke, I saw that it was only a message, but it was from an unknown number.

I opened it up as read it,

The last thing I remember was hitting the floor.
