Chapter 24: Can I have this dance?

Avril's **POV**

We sat there in silence. Just enjoying each others company. Being happy to actually have the most important person to me back in my life. With a few added bonuses.

After the movie had finished we decided to order pizzas. While we waited for them to be delivered we decided on playing a little C.O.D. Me smashing both the boys, as per usual. The pizza arrived and we put on another movie. I got to pick this time and well I was in the mood for a little Zac Efron. I heard Luke(M) groan as he saw the opening title for high school musical 3 come up onto the screen.

"Oh it's really not that bad is it?" I asked. He just shook his head and looked away.

"If it makes you feel any better I love high school musical." Luke(H) said sending my a lopsided grin.

"And that my fabulous friend, is why your the best." I said pulling him into a hug. We continued eating the pizza as we half watched the movie half made random jokes.

Luke(H) **POV**

We were sitting and laughing when a large smile made its way into av's face randomly. I looked to the tv to see the scene where Gabriella teaches Troy how to waltz for their formal. Then I looked back to Avril. She had a glimmer in her dull clouded eyes. She got up and walked over to Luke. He let out a chuckle knowing what was coming next.

"Like old times?" She asked holding out a hand.

"Like old times." Luke responded. Pulling himself up. I watched as they slowly began to dance. They were in time perfectly. With each other and the music.

        It was beautiful.

Luke(M) **POV**

She got up of the couch and began walking towards me. I new what was going on. But it still made me nervous.

"Like old times?" She asked me. The look she had in her eyes. She was trying so hard to forget what ever had happened in the past but she just couldn't. She wouldn't allow herself to. She held out a hand for me to help myself up with. I graciously took it.

"Like old times." I responded looking dead into her gorgeous eyes.

She led me to the small empty space in the living room. We slowly began dancing in circles together. She had the biggest most beautiful smile on her face. I watched as she spun around. Her freshly dyed hair flying around. I caught her in my arms. The song finished. I her her let out a little giggle. She lent in slowly and softly kissed my cheek.

"Like old times." She whispered in my ear. I heard someone clap and turned to see Luke sitting on the couch watching us. I saw av's look down and noticed her cheeks heat up.

"Nope, are to forgetting our deal?" Luke asked.

"Sorry." She whispered.

I walked over go the kitchen to get a drink. I paused to listen. I could here Avril's gorgeous laugh. I brought the biggest smile to me face.

"Hello there" I heard behind me. I turn to see av behind me. She was standing in front of the mirror trying to tie up her hair. I watched her reflection taking in all her simple actions. She let out a sigh.

"God damn it. Fuck." She exclaimed.

"What's wrong?" I asked putting my cup into dishwasher.

"I can't reach up to do my hair. It hurts to much." She sighed.

"Come here." I told her. I took the hair tie off her and began pulling her hair up. I saw her watching me in the mirror.

"Not a bad job Luke. I'll remember so when ever I'm having a bad hair day I'll come to you." She laughed.

"Great now I'm your personal hair dresser as well as your dance partner."

"Geez don't look so happy." She said walking off.

"I was kidding!" I called after her. I began walking after her but she had disappeared.

"Luke! Is Avril with you?" I called out.

"No." He replied. I was actually kinda scared right now.

"Holy fuckin shit!" I squealed as something grabbed me. As soon as that happened I new it had been Avril. I spun to face her to see her laughing so hard she was crying.

"You idiot" she got out between laughs. I took a step towards her. A little closer than intended. We were centimeters apart. Her breath caught in her throat. The insane look she had had in her eyes seconds ago had been replace with a look of love. But what kind?

A quick though ran across my mind. 'Kiss her go for it.' It said. But I pushed it aside. I had to much to lose.

She licked her lips quickly her eyes not breaking contact with mine once. She lent in and placed a kiss on my lips. It was small and simple. She pulled back. A smile in her face. She walked back down the hall to Luke, leaving me there try to connect the dots.
