Chapter 29: Ships That Sail
Avril's **POV**
The next few weeks went by pretty relaxed with nothing really noteworthy happening. Ash was about to ask Tahlia out any day now and everyone else was getting closer and closer day by day. Luke and I had also handed in our essay and had somehow managed to get an 'at standard' on it.
The only thing that was really playing on my mind was my upcoming music performance, which was in 7 hours and counting. To make matters worse I still hadn't decided which song I was going to do yet.
My eyes started studying the posters that lined my walls, the little light seeping in from my curtains making them only partially visible. Not that it mattered though, I had memorized each and everyone of them.
Line after line from every song I new played over in my mind. But there was one line that kept repeating it's self. That was the song.
I brought my knees up to my chest hugging then tightly, my head resting against the window. I knew that back in Melbourne Addi would be proud of me and well James. He would be beyond proud if he saw me now.
I pulled out my headphone and pressed play. 5 minutes later I had fallen asleep to 'Don't Fall Asleep At The Helm' by Sleeping With Sirens.
"Avril, c'mon girl your late! Get up!" Jordan slammed my door closed but I could still hear her yelling throughout the house. I sat up slowly . Today is the day. Emerging from my window, I began the process of getting ready. I could hear my alarm still playing but it didn't bother me so I left it. It was playing my All Time Low playlist. Always good to get you up in the morning. I hummed along to 'Dear Maria, Count Me In' as I slipped in to my school dress. I made my way to my bathroom and turned my straightener on, allowing it to heat up whilst I applied my usual makeup. I straightened my hair quickly. I was never too bothered by how good my hair looked, considering it was just school and by the end of the day it was always wild mess.
I stepped out of my bathroom, my eyes searching the room for my beloved guitar. I couldn't help but smile when I saw it tucked away in the far right corner. I slipped it into its case and carried it down stairs placing it in the boot of my car. I quickly ran inside made myself a poptart and packed my bag. Adventure time was finishing just as I walked over to the couch were the girls sat.
"Righty o, lets go." Tahlia sang happily.
"Are you doing your music performance today av?" Kiera ask me from the passenger seat.
"Yeah you too?" She shook her head. "The girls and I, we did ours last week." I gave her a silent nod.
"Hahaha your so nervous aren't you?" She asked laughed.
"Very. I haven't performed in years."
"Oh don't worry you'll be fine."
"Oh god" Jordan groaned as I turned the corner driving towards an empty car park. Only problem was it wasn't empty, there were four people standing in it.
"OI YOU FOUR! MOVE YOUR FAT ASS'!" I yelled. They turned around and I was greeted with four cheeky grins.
"What if we don't?" Michael called back. I moved the car further into the park closer to them. I saw worry flash across Calum and Ashton's faces but Michael stayed strong, his eyes locked to mine and Luke, well he was just smiling like an idiot enjoying the situation in front of him.
"Your bluffing." Michael called back. Both Calum and Ashton's heads snapped to face Michael looking at him as though he was insane. I raised an eyebrow questioning him. He crossed his armed over his chest and straightened his stance. I straightened my back and began inching the car forward. Michael stood his ground as I got closer but the rest of the boys began moving back.
