Beside You Chapter 8: Safe & Sound
Avril’s **POV**
I made my way around the kitchen looking for things to put onto my sandwich.
“Oi Luke! Bread, where?” I called.
“Top cupboard”
“Thanks.” I began constructing my sandwich. Bread, meat, cheese, lettus, cheese, more meat, cheese and bread.
I took it over to the table and sat down.
“WHAT IS THIS?!” Luke.M said. I just turned and smiled at him.
“Wheres my sandwich?”
“You didn’t ask for one” I said taking a bite.
“Bitch please! I’m practically your brother I shouldn’t have to ask! Now get yo ass up and make me one!” he said acting all sassy.
“Fuck no” I said my mouth full of food.
“LANGUAGE!” he squealed.
“Hows this?” I asked flipping him off once again.
“Wow what a dignified young lady you’ve turned out to be” He said rolling his eyes.
“Who the hell said I was dignified? Let alone a ‘young lady’?” I exclaimed all poshey, causing all the guys to laugh.
“So whats this project on?” Jackson asked.
“We need to find one thing that we both have in common and write and essay about it” Luke.H explained.
“Pft that easy you two have heaps in common.” Kane said. I didn’t really like where this was going.
“Like what?” Luke.H asked.
“You’s both have a strange obsession with penguins, you’s are both in love with All Time Low and you’s both play guitar and sin..” My eyes widened and Luke.M seemed to notice, because he almost instantly stopped talking.
“Sooooo what are you doing down here Av?” Mav asked.
“Ummm” I felt all eyes on me and didn’t like it one bit.
“Well I just wanted a change of scenery.” I lied. Luke had this look in his eye, he new I was lying.
“So how’s James?” Luke.M asked. How was I meant to respond to this?
“He’s good, he’s actually doing some work experience up in Queensland” I said playing with my hands.
“What about mum and dad?” I froze and felt something surge threw my body. Anger, fear, hate?
This was followed by an extremely awkward silence.
“Hey how ‘bout we all go to the park?” He said quickly covering up.
“YAYYYYY!” Calum exclaimed running around. I new what he was doing. Luke wanted me to him self so he could ask what was up.
