A/n- ya I know it's a day late but Ive been thinking about different ways to write this chapter. Hope it was worth the wait!

*~*~*~*~*~*•

I hopped in my car, in my pajamas and tangled hair, my makeup from yesterday smeared all over my face.

Driving always helped me figure out things. I didn't have a destination- I was just driving around town. But I hoped it would help me get to what was best for me.

I turned on LA's premier radio station KIISFM just as a song was ending.

Then another one started. As a beautiful guitar solo. And soft spoken words began to play.

"Chest to chest. Nose to nose- palm to palm- we were always just that close. Wrist to wrist, toe to toe- lips that felt just like the inside of a rose."

I listened to the song- it was Rihanna's California King Bed. And it related to me so much. I pulled over and cried. Cried remembering the night Cody and I sat under the stars, the gleam in his eye as he saw my face light up at the sight of his gift. Cried remembering the look on Cody's face when he spotted me at his concert.

But most of all- I cried, balled actually, at the memory of the torn, distraught look on his face when I furiously chucked the dog tag, the symbol of our love over the edge of the hot air balloon.

Before I knew it the song was over, and the DJ's voice came over my speakers.

"Today were in the studio interviewing Cody Simpson!" he said clapping.

"Pleased to be here," a familiar Aussie voice replied, leaving me in shock.

"So Cody, tell us, how are you man?" The DJ enthusiastically asked.

There was a silence. "Im uhh pretty good today." Even I could tell he was struggling to keep it together.

The DJ seemed to ignore his response, and went on asking questions.

It was the usual Q&A, "are you excited for the release of your album" and "what's the best part of touring".

And then. A question, that I had been dreading the answer to.

"So Cody, we've got a lot of screaming girls surrounding the studio today, who want to know. Is Cody Simpson single?" the DJ questioned.

My heart jumped. His answer- could be the key to everything. There was silence, like Cody was debating what to say with himself. It lingered for what seemed like days. My heart rate grew until I was sure it would explode. And then-

"Ya know, I've made mistakes before. But none like this. I'm sorry, I can't do this-" I heard him say. Then, a few hushed whispers in the back and a quick 'we'll be right back!'

Another song started playing and I just sat in shock. I restarted my car and finally had a destination in mind. Back to Cody's heart. Where I belonged this whole time.

I know what he did may have been wrong. But in a way, it was sweet. He wanted me. And it did save me from Noah, who I learned was a total psycho.

I drove straight to his house, found the key that he always hid (after seeing him use it the night I fell asleep here) and let myself in. I plopped down on his couch. The second he walked in I was going to jump in to his arms.

For about fourty five minutes, I sat there, bored on my iPhone. But then I heard the door know wiggle. A shiver went up my spine.

"See ya Max, thanks for the ride," I heard Cody call out after his driver, who was pulling out of the driveway.

I could tell in the way Cody spoke that he was hurting just as much as me. I couldn't take it, I dashed to the kitchen where he was and he turned around at my footsteps.

His facial expression went from a scared look, thinking some psycho had snuck in, to a confused look, almost like he was just imagining me, to a look of relief.

We both caught each other in an embrace that lasted forever. I was holding him, and he was holding me, and that's how we liked it.

"Im never letting you go again," he said sincerely and looked straight in my eyes with his gorgeous green ones. They were puffy and bloodshot.

At that moment, I felt like a monster. Look at me- I had just torn his heart out. The one guy who loved me an would do anything for me no matter what- and I had turned his life upside down.

"I'm so sorry," I said gingerly.

Then our lips exploded together and electric currents were sent through my body. His soft lips guided mine with passion and I loved how close were, basically every part of us was slammed against each other. His warm lips breathed spearmint on me as we pulled a part that sent tingles up my spine.

Then he took my hand and we sat there, staring in to one anothers eyes. It was silent- but we didn't need to talk. We already knew what the other was thinking.

And that thought for both of us was, "Im so happy to have you back and I wouldn't trade this moment for the world."
