Chapter 4;

Eric p.o.v

"Umm dare," she told them. She then turned to me, laughing. "How bad can it be?" I smiled back.

"I dare you to ... kiss Eric. Properly." My heart stopped - bad, apparently. Surely she'd say no, protest and request a 'truth' instead. But as she just looked at me shyly, asking for permission, I knew she wasn't going to.

"She won't do it - she's too scared!" Someone chided. She looked in the general direction of the noise, not seeing who it was. She turned back to me, rolled her eyes and came towards me.

I took a deep breath, trying to calm myself. It's only a dare, she's not doing it from choice, I reminded myself.

She seemed to take an eternity to reach me, or maybe it was just me. As soon as her lips met mine, my eyes closed of thier own accord and my heart sped up.

I-I don't even like her this way! Well you obviously do, you idiot.

I thought I was imagining it, but I could have sworn that she moved closer to me. Her hands went to my face, holding me there. Well, maybe I wasn't imagining it then, I thought with a slight bit of happiness.

I could hear the whooping and whistling from around us, but as she moaned into my mouth, I couldn't care less. I couldn't help but lean foward, effectively crushing our bodies together.

"Guys, seriously - break it up! You win!" I heard Sophie laugh. Tallie obviously heard as well as she pulled away, leaving her hands on my face. She opened her eyes, staring at me and looking ... confused.

"Umm ... Sorry." She whipped her hands away, suddenly looking towards the others. "Ok, next!"

Ok, this was ... different. I had just kissed my best friend of over 5 years, and I found myself wanting more.

      ....................................

Tallie had said that she wanted to leave soon after the 'incident'. I, of course, had to agree. I was her lift afterall, but I never would have said no to her anyway.

She was quiet all the way home - really unusual for her. If she was mad, she would be talking to herself constantly, going over the problem again and again.

If she was upset, she would be constantly asking me questions, followed by tears. But the silence? I had no idea what that meant, and I really didn't like it.

We arrived at her flat and she didn't say anything as she opened the car door and went to leave.

"Wait, Tallie." I had no idea what I wanted to say. Would I say that I think I like her now, after 5 years?

"Yeah?" She stopped with her hand on the handle, looking at me expectantly.

"Umm ... good night." Pathetic, I sighed to myself. She smiled smally and got out, leaving me alone in my car, confused.
