Lucas's POV
"Aye Brenda come on." I say pulling her away from Monica. She waves as I pull her.
"Ok why are you in such a hurry?"
"Maybe because theres somethings we have to do?"
"mmhmm like what?" I smirk looking over at her as we walk to my car.
"You'll see." She rolls her eyes getting inside my truck.
I drive to the lake as Antidote plays through the radio.
"Lucas, why are we here?"
"Just hold on, go sit on the rock and just wait for me." She sighs and mumbles something under her breath. She got out of the car and I texted my guy.
'Ok I'm ready, give me about 3 minutes.'
I get out of the car excitedly and go over to Brenda, she stands up looking at me weirdly.
"I still don't understand why were here."
"Just be quiet and let me talk. So we've been dating for two years now and I can honestly say your the best thing that has ever happened to me. Theres no words to describe how much you mean to me and how much I love you. Me saying I love you is an understatement. I need you in my life, no matter what. I want to spend a very special night with you."
My phone dings: 'Look up.'
I walk behind her and pull out my phone recording it, as the fire works go off. I hear her gasp.
In big gold letters the fire works read 'Brenda will you go to prom with me, I love you' With a huge red heart around it. The letters/ fireworks start to fall from the sky and I stop the recording. She turns around with tears in her eyes, she nods vigorously and smiles. I smile hugging her. I lift her off the ground and she wrapped her legs around my waist. I spin her around as she hugs me tightly.
"I love you too." She says and I used my thumb to wipe the tears off her face. After I put her on the floor.
"I love you more." I grab her neck and tilt her head upward and give her a slow lingering kiss. She smiles as I pull away from it. I wrap my arms around her neck and she wraps her arms around my waist, as we stare at the water.
"I don't know what to say other than I love you but I've already said it." I smile and kiss the top of her head.
"You don't have to say anything." We sway side to side while looking at the lake. With a comfortable silence.
