College Talk

Brenda's POV

I walk into Lucas's room, knocking on the door frame.

"Hey." 

"Wassup did you bring them?" He asks eagerly. I nod.

"Yep, got them all right here." I say pointing to my bag. 

"Great." He closes the door and pulls me to sit down on his bed.

"Before we say anything, I just wanted to say, wherever you go I go." He stares into my eyes.

"Lucas."

"No, I'm going with you Brenda, so don't try to change my mind because that shit aint gone work." I sigh defeated. 

"Fine." I say after taking a deep breath. 

"So where do you want to go?" I ask.

"I got a full scholarship to Duke and Kentucky, but I want to except Duke. I haven't excepted anything yet, nothing is finally. Where do you want to go?" HARVARD.

"DUKE." I scream excitedly. 

"Your for real?" NOPE, but I nod and smile. He crashes his lips into mine kissing me slow and passionately, he pulls away with a concentrated face on.

"Wait you told Becca and everyone else that you wanted to go to Harvard." 

"Um, I did but you know I didn't get in but who cares, were going to college together." I tackle him in a hug. WERE NOT GOING TO COLLEGE TOGETHER, is what I want to scream, but when you have such a sexy boyfriend who will do anything for you lying is what you have to do to help the both of you. 

"Well I'm gonna except Duke if you except." 

"I'm gonna." I say. He wraps his arms around my neck pulling me in his chest. 

"Everything is right in the universe." He jokes and I laugh. I look up at him and smile. 

"LUCAS I'M NOT GONNA TELL YOU AGAIN TO TAKE OUT THIS FREAKING GARBAGE." Lucas's mother yells ups the stairs. I look up at him because he already knows what I'm think.

"Her news years resolution is to not curse so she uses short cuts like freaking and gum drops." I bust out laughing at the last one. 

"Yeah I'll be back." I nod still laughing. I go down the stairs a minute after him and see his mom in the living room. 

"Hey Brenda, so Lucas tells me you both are going to Duke." I suck in a deep breath.

"Yeah...about that." She looks at me suspiciously. 

"What'd you do?" 

"I kind of told Lucas that I was going to accept duke but I'm not going to."

"What?" 

"He said where ever I went he would go with me and I didn't want him to throw away his life trying to follow me so I told him that we were going to the same college but I'm going to the university of Florida." She jumps up clapping.

"Yay your going to-" The front door opens and Lucas walks in. I stand up next to her and mouth.

'Don't tell him.' She nods.

"That is amazing your both going to the same college." He comes over and hugs me nodding.

"Yep."

"Ok well I'll see you kids later." I nod.

"Now I can't wait until college, no parents, alone on our own, and get to do whatever we want because were adults who make our own rules." 

"Yep." I say nodding my head.

"Whats wrong?" He asks.

"Nothing." He gives me that look, 'for real whats wrong.'

"For real nothing, I'm just...thinking abut having to leave my family thats all." I come up with a excuse real fucking quick.

"Brenda we'll be fine." I nod. 

"Other than that I can't wait to go with you." I say climbing on top of his lap. Kissing his neck.

"Don't go there." I laugh climbing.

"Whatever nigga." I lean my head in his chest, as he turns on the t.v. 

"I just want you to know that I love you." 

"I know and I love you too." he kisses the top of my head.

I walk into the house and just drop my back pack by the door. Becca runs down the steps.

"Girl, whats wrong with you?" 

"I just lied to Lucas." I say pouting while walking into her waiting arms. 

"About what?"

"I'm not telling you because I don't want you to be in the middle of this when its time for him to know the truth."

"Brenda Lucas loves you, and he trusts you, when he says he down as fuck for you he's down as fuck for you." 

"Ok whats that supposed to mean." I say with a hint of attitude in my voice. 

"Brenda, if you keep lying to him he's not gonna trust you or be down as fuck. He loves you."

"Now your making me feel even more guilty than I already am."

" When are you going to tell him the truth, just think about it when he lied to you about that gang shit and being you wouldn't talk to him. Now if your lying to him about something big your really in trouble." I sigh and stomp my way to my bedroom. 

Everything that she said makes sense. Every fucking thing. Lucas is gonna be crushed and hes already told my brothers and his mom, who knows how many people he will tell. I'm such an idiot. I just didn't want him to miss out on the opportunity of playing with a really good team.
