"Change is inevitable.
The least you can do is accept it."
She once told me.
Does this quote apply to her too?
Back in the days,
when we still sat comfortably
against each other,
a comfort that we know
we have a friend by our side.
When we used to get all funny
and laugh the whole way to our destination.
How nobody's judgement ever stained our friendship.
How we didn't care what the others think.
Now we do.
But mostly you do.
You forgot that you had a friend
who you used to share you secrets with.
We had no shame with our secrets.
But now it hurts that you tell me
I wasn't present during "the rant"
and that you didn't feel like saying it anymore,
so you wouldn't.
And I would be left sitting there not knowing what's going on.
While your other friend,
who I suppose is your best friend now,
laughs along.
I know you were probably flattered
by your other friend's presence.
Because she's all amazing.
And I agree with you.
She is truly a great company.
It's okay to make other friends,
as long as you don't forget
that I am your best friend too.
You barely talk to me.
You barely say a word to me.
And when I stand there and
she leaves to go home already,
you're less talkative.
And I have to do all the talking.
I guess it became a little awkward now?
You'll always be my best friend.
I hope that you changed
for yourself and not for anyone else.
