|~Chapter Thirteen~|
|<Jane's POV>|I sat on Klaus's bed watching him paint in the other half of his room. There something about him painting that sooth me, it was peaceful to watch. I got up and went over to him. I wrapped my arms around his waist and and hummed.
"Yes Jane, love, how may I help you?" He asked me as he continued to paint.
"What are you painting?" I moved my hands away and came to the front side of him.
"Not too sure yet, we will just have to see where it goes."
"Have you had any more contact with them yet?"
"Nope, it's been a week now, I'm pretty sure she is dead. There is nothing they would have been able to do to save her."
"There is no spell as far as I am concerned."
"Stop panicking Jane, they won't be coming after us. Not yet anyway."
"Okay then. Plus I am not panicking, I just want to be prepared in case they attack or whatever."
"So you are panicking then."
"I am not!" I laughed as he grabbed and swirled me around.
"Stop! I said I was to keep you safe so don't panic about it." He kissed me before putting me down.
"Jane, Nicklaus. Do ever plan to leave this room?" Elijah walked wearing a swanky suit as per usual.
"We go out during the night for food Elijah don't worry." Klaus had picked his paint brush again.
"Well maybe you should go out for a bit of sun. See the town and talk to other people."
"Duly noted Elijah. Besides we don't need to go out, we are happy here."
"Well anyway, the wolves want to speak later Klaus if you are willing to attend."
"I will don't worry Elijiah, I don't particularly mind the wolves to be honest."
"Well I best get going, I am meeting Angela for coffee." I kissed klaus on the cheek. "See you later."
"Bye love, don't kill anyone."
"I won't." I grabbed my bag and headed out the door of Klaus's room and down the stairs. I headed out the big gates and headed for the corner coffee shop me and Angela always went to. I remember this was where I first met Jake. He was working and he split coffee on me by accident. As far as I was concerned he still worked here.
When I arrived, Angela was nowhere to be seen but Jake was. He was serving someone bagels and coffee. He hadn't changed one bit, he was still the same Jake I once dated. He saw me and gave me an awkward smile.
"Hey there Jane. What are you doing in New Orleans? I thought you had run back off to Mystic Falls." He asked me as I sat down at a nearby table.
"I think I have moved back. I will probably be coming there though some point in the future. How was the funeral? Sorry I couldn't come, I was a little tied up with Mikealson family problems."
"It was good, just I never thought him to be a werewolf. I can't believe he even kept it from me. You meeting Angela here?"
"Yeah, so a latte and cappuccino for her please."
"I know, I always remember your usual. At Christmas I would even slip some gingerbread syrup in there for you for free."
"Yeah you would, I remember that too." I could feel a slight awkwardness between the two of us.
