|~Chapter One~|
I kept looking in the mirror to check my outfit. We had sped back to the house as I demanded to change. The dress Angela was too lovely to get ruined. I had out on my black ankle high heeled boots, skinny jeans, dark red blouse and leather jacket. Klaus was outside the revving the engine of the car.
I ran out my door with a bag, purposely leaving my phone on my bed so no-one could bover me. I slammed the front door behind me and got into the car. As I threw the bag into the backseat, klaus turned the radio off.
"You ready now?" He asked me.
"Yes, so here are we going?"
"New York." He said as the car raced around and out of the driveway.
"New York? I was expecting you to say New Orleans actually like per usual." I laughed." When are you actually go back there by the way?"
"Sometime, never know when." He murmured. I didn't think he realised I can now hear him when he speaks in that really low, quiet voice.
"You don't know? Wow that's strange coming from you."
"Excuse me?"
"Just speaking the truth."
"Well sweetheart, hate to break it to you but sometimes you speaking the truth, or speaking at all for that matter, is not needed." He pulled a smirk towards me.
I groaned and turned to look out the window. This was going to be a long journey.
---------------
The car stopping woke me up as my whole body jolted forward. I groaned as I stretched and woke my body up. I always slept on a long journey by false habit as it helps speed it along. Klaus just sat and stared me.
"What?"
"I just still find it strange that you're a vampire, you look nothing like one."
"Oh right, I can't work out if that's a compliment or not. I can say the same though, not even my eyes are different. Why is that?" I check my self out in the mirror.
"Oh no, your eyes are different they have are more brighter and alive, like your heart is." He smiled towards me.
"Don't be creepy otherwise this gets weird." I directed between the two us. "Plus I don't technically think my heart is alive anymore so..."
"Oh come on, have a little faith sweetheart. Just because heart doesn't beat anymore doesn't mean it isn't alive."
"Whatever you say Klaus." I got out the car. It was getting to stuffy in there for my liking. I got onto the sidewalk and breathed the slightly fresh air. "Busy." I commented as Klaus joined my side.
"It's New York, fancy some lunch? I know a great place."
----------------
We stood in the doorway of an old bar. There was barely anyone here, a few day drinkers and a bunch of underage girls dressed in hardly any clothes sat with a man who was drinking them. This was a vampire joint. Fantastic.
"Smells like rust." I commented.
"Was that your way of saying it smells like blood?" We walked up the bar. "Two of your finest whiskey please and make it large. I have been driving and I acquire a fancy nice drink." The waitress smiled before rushing off to get our drinks.
"Well this place is rubbish where is the food?" I asked as our drinks arrived.
"When is lunch I meant..." He glanced over to the vampire with all the girls around him.
"No. I am not doing that, sorry but this is the one I will not do. They are barely eighteen that's totally unfair."
"Your don't have to pick them. This place will heaving soon it always is love, you will enjoy it then." He smirked.
"Oh really, how are you so sure?"
"I've been to this place plenty of times for a 'bite'." He turned to the group of girls. "Excuse me sir but could I borrow one of your lasses, I am feeling quite peckish if I must say."
"Choose any, they are beginning to bore me. Please come sit with me to help for my entertainment. Would you like one my lady?" He spoked with a rich North American accent which kind of threw me off a bit. "Don't worry they are already compel to enjoy the pain so they won't scream."
Before I could say no, Klaus dragged me over to the booth with my whiskey. "what's your name?" Klaus asked him.
"Richard. Yours?"
"Klaus."
"Ah the original hybrid. Never though I would ever meet you; well know I can say I have." He smiled.
"I'm Jane." I piped up.
"Nice to meet you Jane, let's say we have a drink together. A real drink." The girls began to giggle. This is just sick. Yet I really to rip open their necks and drink them until they are raw. Klaus and Richard bit into the girl closet to them.
The girl sat next moved her head the opposite direction so I could drink from her. I couldn't help her but look at her. She had blond which she had curled and pinned up. She wore a tiny black dress with a silver chain around her neck. Just do it, I kept on thinking.
Within a second I gave into my self and I dug my fangs deep into her neck. I drank from her like I drinking a soda or something, I wasn't stopping. The only thing that me stop wasn't knowing that girl had a life and was somebody real who had friends and a family. I pulled away and I wiped my mouth with a napkin on the table. All Klaus did was smile at me.
"That wasn't so hard was it, love?" He smiled.
"No but it isn't fun." Richard looked between the two of us and smirked.
"You guys have real tension between you. If you don't break it soon, you may bounce on each other and I don't mean in the angry way." He raised his eyebrows. "Let's say we clear these girls up and move on to some fresh meat."
"Sure, I prefer older blood. It's tastes better just like wine." Klaus smiled.
I was getting sick of listening them talk like that. They are definitely not bottles of wine to pick and choose over."When you said that you wanted to teach me how to be a vampire in these times, I didn't realise it was just an excuse for you to go on a drinking binge for a few days." I groaned standing up. "Don't teach me how to be you." I stormed out the bar in a fury. Something snapped in me when he laughed about the blood in the girls. I wished I had my phone right now so I could talk to Angela.
I began to walk down the street, the sun was beating down on me making me warm inside. All of a sudden Klaus was stood in front of me. " I am not teaching you to be me, love. I am teaching to live a bit instead of feeding off bunnies or blood bags. Those things taste awful compared to the real stuff, you know that but you are afraid to admit incase Angela judges you."
"Still, I don't want to be like that. It's looks painful. As well I didn't enjoy it, they should not be feeling pleasure. The pain should still be there. It hurts that Richard can just sit in there and just drink off young girls who are compelled to feel pleasure. It's wrong Klaus." He rubbed my arm.
"I know, I know love. It gets easier though, as you may know. Just try it again and you'll see. Just drink from someone who you think deserves it. Come on it's happy hour, we might miss the best drinks. That's includes alcohol." He smiled.
His charm won't win me over, but alcohol and possibly dancing might. I need to get over the blood drinking thing, maybe a few drinks might help me. Klaus was walking off. "Wait up!" I called after him. As I caught up to him, Richard came out the bar we had just been in.
"Talk about not waiting for me now? We may not be friends but I thought we were doing this together." He began walk next to me.
"More the merrier! Right love?" Klaus smirked towards me.
"Sure, can't wait." I smiled sarcasticly. This was going to be a long night.
