"YOU KNOCKED IT OFF!!!" Quintin screamed and Roxy jerked a bit, "YOU WERE SO DAMN GREAT THERE!!!"
"Hey now," Roxy laughed and the other boys did the same. Roxy had trained the whole evening and now the boys and she were heading to Collins' room to chat a bit.
"So, Rox," Benny said, as they all sat in Collins' room, "How was it? I mean your experience."
"To be honest," She sighed with pleasure, "It was great! Now it feels like I'm a part of a gang. Rock n' roll, baby!"
"My influence," Quentin giggled and the boys gave him a death glare, "What did I do?"
"Dare speak when I speak to the Queen," Benny said in a jokingly tone, "Nah, man, was just kidding."
All of them laughed at Benny and Quentin's silliness. Max had said that Donovan would be there later that night. The boys were excited and Roxy felt a tingling feeling inside her stomach. She didn't really make out what that meant but a part of her told that something unexpected was gonna happen. Plus, Max had also added that Donovan was too very troubled and so. Much more than Max, himself. Roxy looked forward to meeting him.
"So, what do you guys do in a gang?" Roxy blurted out thinking nothing of it. She wanted to divert her thoughts, "Exactly?"
"Well," Collins was gonna start but Kian interrupted.
"We get into fights, sell illegal products and do all those cliché bad boy stuffs," He finished with pride.
"Not all bad, are we? Never killed a guy," Benny added.
"Or a girl," Earl chuckled and got weird looks in return, "Yeah, out of question."
"The thing is that," Collins said, "All the money we get and gather with our deeds go to a better place. Well, not all of it. 50% you can say. We need money too, right? Plus, we help people too. That's why we aren't that infamous."
"Impressive," Roxy said, "A good mafia gang. I like it."
The boys smiled. Kian said, "And what about Donovan, guys? Is he gonna come today?"
"Yeah," Quentin nodded, "That guy is really dangerous. Rox, he pins everyone down and he has majority of the girls in this area after him."
Roxy smiled nervously. She was so not looking forward to meet him. He sounded dangerous and mysterious. Not like the other guys. But she also felt that this nervousness was irrational. She should be brave. She's in a gang after all.
"Well, he can't pin me down," She said with a fake confidence.
"You got spirits, girl, but . . ." Quentin got interrupted by Collins.
"No need to scare her or something," Collins said. Roxy felt low. Was this Donovan dude scaring Roxy? He shouldn't.
"Scare me? Wrong statement, Collins," Roxy defied.
"Sorry," Collins whispered. Weirdos.
+++++
Later that evening, Roxy was down at the pit struggling with the punching bag and the boys were training. Max had just gotten into the pit, fixing a remote like thing. God, this guy should've been some mechanic. He had been down there in the pit the whole day doing something. He sat on the bench at the side of the door and handled the remote with a weird passion.
"Hey guys," He suddenly said, "Know what?"
"What?" All of them said in unison.
"Will have this security system down here for the next thing we steal," With that he pressed a button on the remote and a metallic box slipped out of the wall with some weird mechanism Roxy didn't even catch.
"I've been at this since five months," Max said as a little hint of laughter played in his throat. All the guys cheered and Roxy just looked at it. Max was a genius. Like, a genius.
I couldn't do that, Roxy thought, You have brains, Max.
"That," Collins said, "My friend, is sick!"
"Know, right?" He winked at Collins. Everyone gathered to check out the thing and all. Max just stared at it with pride and Roxy smiled.
"Great job, there," She said.
"Thank you, mafia princess," He smiled down at her.
That's when Roxy heard footsteps behind her. Max turned but Roxy ignored it. Then the boys did. All together. Frozen.
"Donovan," Max said and Roxy froze but then turned around. A hooded guy stood there. His face all covered in darkness. Then he removed the hood and Roxy thought her heartbeat stopped for a while.
"Brother," Donovan said. Roxy knew who this guy was. It was from the mall. Who bumped into her. Whom she wanted to punch. She gulped and caught his attention.
"You?" He sounded so calm, it scared Roxy.
"Yo-you?" She stuttered.
"Oh this should be fun," He smirked.
