Ronnie gripped the picture of his daughter sobbing silently in the dead of the night. He couldn't shake the thought that his daughter had gone away. His eyes burnt from continuous crying. He couldn't make out why Roxy had ran away. He had posted his missing posters and kept a reward of $40000 for the one who'll find her. Three days but no response. He hoped that her daughter was fine; that she didn't . . .
The word scared him. All he had left was her. In all this sadness, his love for Karrina seemed to be nonexistent. He had locked himself up in his room and shut the world out. Karrina had come to comfort her but he hadn't wanted to talk to anyone.
"Where are you, baby girl?" He sobbed. The room was dark as hell and everything seemed to blur out. There was silence. Not any normal silence. He had called it Suicide Silence. He decided to go to the balcony and sit there for a while. He did.
The balcony of his room overlooked a pond where ducks used to reside, quaking all day. Many birds also came to drink water and Roxy used to be the one to welcome them. After her disappearance, the ducks seemed to get depressed too. They didn't flap their wings playfully anymore. They just sat near the water staring at nothing. Ronnie looked up to the sky that was clear that night. The dark hue was lit by stars and the crescent moon watched over the city. The night sky seemed to give him some hope.
She is somewhere out there, Ronnie told himself, Somewhere where she's happy and fine. And she will come back to me.
He looked at the ducks again who were asleep by the clear and still water. Ronnie remembered bringing Roxy her first duck. When she was three, she asked for it on her birthday and Ronnie had bought her a white beautiful mother duck, so that she could have a duck family to raise. Roxy had named her Snow and there she was asleep by the pond. Eternally asleep.
Looking at the sky and thinking over and over made Ronnie fall asleep too. There was only silence, the loudest scream of all.

Karrina sat in her room. No, she didn't stay in the same room as Ronnie's but another room. There was only darkness there. She smiled as she pierced another pin into the body of a stuff teddy. The toy was her favourite. She had named it Roxette. Out of loath. She was glad that the girl had left. She silently sang a happy song to herself. A happiness she couldn't express through words. The teddy bear looked so wounded in the dark. Karrina did that to it. But alas, there wasn't a part of Roxy's soul in the toy. If there was . . .
Magic doesn't exist.
Hatred does.
Karrina curled up into a ball on her queen sized bed. She had no love for the runaway girl or her man but only for money and reputation. All she cared about was beauty and money. Both she had. Finally, she was successful in siding away the little princess, the heiress to the throne. She gripped a pillow tight to herself and a whimper escaped her lips. All this beauty, money and reputation came with a price. A terrible price.
Who knew that there were true horrors in her past? She had watched her parents burn to death, her sister hanging herself just for the sake of love and her first love jumping down a chasm. Through the maniacal laughs, came choking sobs and whimpers of agony. A bad past gives rise to a bad person.
Mascara ran down her eyes painting the white pillow cover black. She gripped the teddy bear. She just had to remove Ronnie from his throne. That would be enough to be the Queen.
Nights went this way while Roxy was away. Karrina had totally assumed that Roxy was dead by now. She so really wanted to believe that. For when they will be gone, everything will be hers.
