The rest of the night was nuts. They got out of the club and half of the night was still at hand so they decided to mess around a bit. The Korean dude had Roxy a bit worried. Sure he did sound dangerous and these Mafia people weren't to be messed with when violent. Plus, they'd have a lot of weapons all packed up and shit.  But this wasn't time to be afraid. Roxy and the boys had to face whatever was waiting for them, be it death. You can never ever back down when you've come so far.

Donovan was vigorous with the brakes. The vacant streets of the city was lit up by shining street lights and dying glow of the LED headings of big malls and hotels. He drove as if he didn't care if they crashed. The crisp wind stomped on Roxy's face and she gasped each time Donovan took a sharp turn. Maybe Donovan didn't have any care for life but Roxy did. Dying in an accident due to reckless driving would be the last thing she'd want. Donovan laughed and screamed each time Roxy'd gasp while Highway To Hell blasted through the car stereo.

After a couple of brakes and edgy turns, he halted the car and gasped in for some oxygen. Roxy's hair was a mess and she breathed out some air, she didn't even know she was holding back. The song had ended a couple of seconds before they stopped so it was all silent.

"WHAT WERE YOU TRYING TO PROVE, YOU PATHETICALLY AGGRESSIVE PSYCHO???!!!" Roxy yelled at Donovan trying to loosen the knots out of her hair.

He probably wasn't expecting that so he jumped a bit and gave her a surprised look.

"Chillax, princess," He laughed on her face, "Don't tell me you didn't like the drive 'cause most girls die to get in my car just for this baby show."

"Are you fucking kidding me?" Roxy argued, "Those girls who'd 'die' for this ride would just die if a cat kissed their ass and I'm not one of those cheapos so know this; either you drive alright or just give up this car."

"Yo, no one talks to me like that," His voice hardened, "Not even you."

"Marilyn Monroe called," Roxy pretended to receive a call, "Said she doesn't even care."

Donovan's face darkened. Silence fell like sudden a body being freely attracted by gravity. Now, a sudden chill ran down her spine. Maybe she shouldn't have argued to the bad boy to this level. No matter what, he is one of the most feared guys, kinda a lion. And a lion shouldn't be angered. Roxy should've known better.

All of a sudden, Donovan burst out laughing. Roxy was dazed for a moment. Why was he laughing? Even Roxy wouldn't laugh that much if she saw a duck moonwalking.

"You're fucking humorous," Donovan said between laughs and him trying to catch breaths.

A small smile automatically found its way across Roxy's lips.

"You . . . you done laughing?" Roxy asked rather shyly. She didn't know why that felt good - Donovan complimenting her.

"Oh yeah, haha," He started the car and the engine boomed to life, "Ah, let's go home now." He glanced at Roxy with a rather generous and honest smile.

Roxy smiled back.

"You should do that, you know, princess," He added, "Make me laugh, I mean." Saying this he turned the gear and the car moved forward.

"Umm, okay, Donovan," Roxy breathed out.

"How about make that 'Donny'?" He said while looking straight up and focusing on the road.

"Sounds like donkey," Roxy pulled an immatured face and Donovan laughed like crazy.

"Not this one, Roxette," He laughed, "Keep it Donovan."

She joined him laughing. Rest of the ride was carried on by music but the kids were silent. Roxy stared out the window and watched the dark buildings and allies pass by. The city was so calm at night. It was as if they were on an apocalyptic earth trying to get away from zombies.

Roxy started humming the song to herself and kept staring out just enjoying the chill air, when something at the distance caught her eye. The car hadn't reached the spot yet so it was pretty far off. As they neared, she could make out two dark figures. One of them had something in his hand. As they passed by, the other man ran into the alley and the man with something in his hand chased him into the dark. A booming sound followed from the distance now.

Roxy froze.

She peered out the car window but could see nothing.

"Hey," Donovan said, "You okay, Rox?"

"I thought. . ." She argued with herself about whether she should tell him or not, "Uh, nothing. Thought I saw something."

Donovan let out a hmph and continued driving till they reached home.
