Amy pulls up to Shawn's house, the sun now about to set. It didn't feel like I was at the mall for long, but I guess I was. It's 5:30 so, they don't eat dinner until 6. I don't plan on staying, especially because Shawn lied to me.

"Thanks Amy. I'll text you later." I get out of the car and stride up to the door, swiftly opening them and walking into the kitchen.

"Hey Mrs. Mendes." I smile at her while she makes their dinner.

"Hey Paisley! Shawn's upstairs. Did you hear about his convention thing?" She smiles back and stirs whatever is in the pot.

"No, I haven't." I sigh.

"Well, I'm sure he's dying to tell you."

I nod and walk up the stairs, trying to contain and settle my anger. Shawn could literally set me off anytime. I push open his bedroom door, seeing him with his guitar and in front of a camera. He looks at me quickly before looking back at the camera. I silently sit behind the camera and watch him, some of the lyrics catching my ears.

Met this girl when I was three years old
We were holding hands tight so I'm told
And it felt like an eternity
Said it felt like an eternity
'Cause I knew back then we were more than friends
Two sided story it all depends
And I'll say it once, and I'll say it again
It'll only end up hurting me

We met when we were 3 years old, in preschool. Everyone teased us and said we were dating when 1st grade came. I thought it was 'icky' and told him to not hold my hand anymore. Shawn sings more, staring straight at me and not at the camera anymore.

Darling I want all the strings attached
I love it when you look at me like that
And you're the only girl that brings me back
'Cause baby I want all the strings attached
It's like always and forever
I won't let a moment pass
And when I'm with you I feel better
I want all the strings, all the strings attached

I continue to silently listen to the rest of the song and wait for him to turn off the camera.

"You didn't tell me." I look away and rest my chin on my fist.

"Tell you what?" He puts his guitar back on the stand and sits on the floor.

"Magcon?" I look at him quickly before rolling my eyes. "If you knew you weren't going to be here for homecoming, why did you say you wanted to go with me?"

"I didn't want you going with anyone else." Shawn mumbles and looks at the carpet.

"You don't have to worry anymore. I'm not going." I shrug.

"What? You have to. You can go with Robbie if you want to." Shawn rolls his eyes.

"I'm going to California."

"Why?"

"Modeling. In partner with Magcon. Whether you wanted to get away from me or not, you're stuck with me. I want to visit Stanford too. I just have to tell my parents."

"That's great for you, I guess." He shrugs.

"Shawn. What's your problem? Do you really hate me so much that you need time away?"

"I definitely do not hate you." He shakes his head. My phone buzzes and I take it out to reveal a text from Robbie. '219 Luxe Av - the party. hope to see u there ;)' "What is it?"

"Robbie." I show him the text and put it back down. "Wanna go?"

"A party?" Shawn gives me back my phone and paces. "We can't."

"Why not? It'd be fun." I smile.

"Pais, you've never been to one of these parties. How would you know?" He sighs.
