Long Ass Flight

It's now Thursday. My alarm sounds at an early 3 am. I groan and sleepily head to the bathroom and get ready.

The entire week was uneventful. It consisted of going to school, coming home, going to work, and repeat. Shawn acted as if that kiss never happened and I desperately wanted him to talk about it. We've never kissed and now I can't help but feel different around him. It's a weird and scary feeling, I think it's love? How could I love my best friend like that? I can't let my mind keep wandering to that.

I sigh and splash my face with water before brushing my teeth and throwing my hair up into a messy bun. I put on mascara and change into some Hollister joggers and a sweatshirt. I probably look like a mess but it's 3 fucking am. I'm sure as hell not gonna try. When I'm done, I sulkily walk back into my room and grab my suitcase and phone off the charger.

"Hey. You leaving now?" I jump at my brother's voice, sending my phone flying.

"Shit, Noah. What are you doing up?" I sigh and pick up my phone, examining it for cracks.

"I just got home." He shrugs and leans back on his crutches.

"Okay.." I raise my eyebrows at him, skeptically before walking out of my room. "Yeah. I'll see you when I get back."

"Be careful." He pats my arm.

"I know." I shake my head.

"No, really. Even with Shawn. I don't trust that kid." Noah persists.

"I know, Noah." I roll my eyes and walk down the stairs. "Go to sleep and try not to kill yourself at 3 am."

"Bye, Paisley." He calls before I close the front door. I said bye to my parents last night; they have work today and I didn't want to bother them. Sleepily, I run across the street and slip into Shawn's house. I bump right into Shawn after I close the door.

"Uh, Pais?" He looks down at my feet and laughs.

"What Shawn?" I roll my eyes.

"You're not wearing shoes." He chuckles. I look down at my feet and slap my face.

"I'm so fucking tired." I groan. I sit on the floor and unzip the suitcase to take out some Uggs.

"I see that." Shawn sighs and takes his keys off the hook."Let us go."

I stand back up and zip my suitcase, following him out to his car. I open the back door to put my suitcase in and then get in the passenger seat. Shawn gets in after putting his suitcase in as well and starts the car.

"Shawny." I yawn and lean my head against the window.

Shawn laughs and rolls the window down, causing my head to fall. "Shawny?"

"Yeah. You call me Pais, so I get to call you Shawny." I rub my head and curl up  into a ball.

"I don't like it." He shakes his head, a playful grin on his face.

"I don't like you." I groan and close my eyes.

"Really?" Hurt is evident in his voice, a reaction I didn't expect.

"No. I was joking, idiot."

"Oh, good." Shawn sighs.

I shrug and lean back so I could go to sleep. "Wake me up when we're there, okay?"

"Okay." He squeezes my hand and I drift back into sleep.

I hit my head hard on something and I wince. "What the hell?" I rub my head again and look to see Shawn standing in front of me in the airport.
