Place: Salisbury Connecticut
Date: January 4th 1989
Today the kids where at school and Don had the off and Meryl didn't have to go to set to day. so after the kids left for school and Do came back from dropping grace off at daycare. they where cuddling in their master bedroom watching home movies. when all of a sudden Meryl felt sick and jumped up out of Don's arm and ran to the bathroom that was connected to their bedroom and Don followed directly after. he reached her just in time to hold her hair back. with on hand over her stomach and the other holding her hair back.
"my poor baby I'm going to see Dr.Kitts no if ands or buts about it" Don said affectionately
"oh fine" Meryl groaned. moments later they found them-selves climbing into their Renault 4 on the way to the doctors office. They where half way their when Meryl fell sick again.
"don" Meryl said calmly
"what" Don asked
"PULL OVER NOW" Meryl demanded. Don did as she said and pulled over before he even got to side of the road Meryl already had the door flung open. when she was finished emptying her guts on the side of the road Don pulled of the the side of the road and sped to the doctors office as fast as the other drivers would let him. when they arrived they where immediately sent an exam room
"don can you hand me that trash can NOW" Meryl said urgently. Don obliged and he got the ca to her just in time "I fucking hate this" Meryl stated
"I know darling I know" Don said. moment went by Meryl stop throwing up when the doctor came in.
"so whats up with us today folks" Dr.Kitts asked a she walked up to the sink to wash her hands.
"well you see my wife has thrown up three.....four time in the past hour and that's not normal" Don said as she threw up one more time.
"ok so I will need to take some blood to narrow our search for what is wrong with your wife so i will go page my nurse and then she will take your blood Mrs.Gummer" Dr.Kitts said as she paged her nurse quickly the nurse came in and took her blood then took it to the lab. both the nurse and Dr.Kitts left the room saying she will be back in a hour with the results, Right before Meryl threw up again this time she dry heaved. Don looked at his wife sympathetically
"come here darling" Don said getting up and walking over to the exam table Meryl was laying hunched over.
"come here let me hold you" Don said picking her up and laying down where Meryl once lay "darling fall asleep I will wake you when the Doc gets back" Don said allowing Meryl to curl up into a ball and rest on his chest.
"I love you my Romeo" Meryl said almost in tears because she was in so much pain
"I know my Juliet I know now get some sleep" Don said
"ok" Meryl said. a moment later Meryl cried herself to peaceful sleep in her Romeo's warm embrace. Don kissed her on the crown of her head. an not long after had sleep captured him too. an hour had passed and Don woke to the sound of the door opening and Dr.Kitts walked in. Dr.Kitts cleared her throat to get their attention. Don woke Meryl up with a kiss. Meryl stirred oh so slightly and woke up stretching and smiling up at Don sleepily.
" my love I'm sorry i woke you but the doc is back" Don said smiling at his half asleep wife
"ok" Meryl said
"so what is wrong with her doc" Don asked.
"well I have some good news and some great news which do you want first" Dr.Kitts replied with a smile on her face.
