Ross's POV

I just sat there, shocked at what I had said. It was true, but he didn't have to know about it yet! Dan had spoke, but I wasn't ready to reply. I instantly regretted saying that.
"Uhm..." I uttered, as I couldn't think of anything to say.
"Y-you're joking, right?" Dan smiled awkwardly.
I stay silent; I wasn't joking, but I couldn't just tell him outright that I meant it. With all my heart, I wish I could just tell him.
"Ross?" Dan continued after a few minutes of nothing happening.
"Yea?" I muttered nervously.
"Are you serious?" He asked uncertainly.
I just nodded, because I couldn't say anything else. Was he mad at me? Did he accept me? The questions came rushing forward, the reality of this situation sinking in. There were so many questions I should've asked myself. So many I should've asked Dan. What about the others? What about the fans?
"Ross," Dan snapped me out of my fantasy, "It'll be fine." I look up at him to see he is blushing, "Really, though? I mean, why me? I don't know what you could ever see in me!"
"Dan, um," I look at him, concerned, "What do we do? What will you do? What- what do you think?" I hoped with all my heart that he would accept me, just say he loved me back.
"I dunno, it's just that it's sudden, y'know? I can't tell you anything right now, sorry."
"It's fine." I looked down; what was I thinking? He only ever thought of me as a friend.
"Ross? I didn't say no yet!" He smiled at me a bit, trying to make me happy, as always.
"So, you said you wanted to know what I see in you?" I referred back to those few minutes ago, trying to act cool, even if I clearly was nervous.
"S-sure, I'm kinda curious..." His voice trailed off.
"Well, you're always there for me when nobody else cares. Even now, you're sitting here with me, trying to reassure me. Dan," I smiled slightly, "Your laugh is like music to my ears, and your smile is the most beautiful thing I will ever see." My heart raced as the words came forth, expressing my true emotions.
"O-oh, Ross! That's just what a good friend should do; be there and smile for their friends when the going gets tough!" Dan smiled awkwardly, blushing, but hey, I was probably twice as red.
I look at the ground silently, waiting for Dan to do something. After a few minutes of the quiet atmosphere, Dan sits down beside me, and puts a hand on my shoulder. I jump a little bit, and tense up.
"Ross, I honestly don't know what I'm gonna do, or really even what to say, but who knows?" He broke the silence.
"I-it's fine! I didn't really expect you to, well, y'know..."
"Ross, I didn't say no yet!" Dan restated, smiling a slight bit, trying his hardest to make me happy.
"You didn't say yes, either." I pointed out.
"Ross, please," he groaned, "Try to be a bit more optimistic. Please?"
"Sorry for making you have to cheer me up."
"Ross, just let me think it over for a while."
"Yea," I muttered, "Sorry for being like this."
"Let's just... Let's just eat, okay?"
