Jon's POV
I caught Arin in my arms; he had almost taken a trip to the ground. I couldn't help but smile at his flustered expression. I'd saved him many times from smashing his face, but here it somehow felt a bit different, but I can't explain it. Maybe it's just been a while.
"Th-thanks," Arin stuttered, looking up at me with a blush on his face.
"We wouldn't want to see you hurt," I pull him back on the couch, making sure he was still trapped in the blankets that I wrapped him in.
"I'm like a little wormy worm!" Arin childishly giggles.
"Heheh, yea," I couldn't help but share his gleeful grin.
Arin sat silently, once again leaning against me. I was glad that he was cheering up quickly. I couldn't stand seeing him sad; it made me sad, too.
"Hey Ariiiin!" I shout, feeling him leap out of surprise.
"Yea?" He laughed at his own shock.
"Wanna play some Mega Man?" I hold out the game in front of him, taunting him somewhat; he couldn't grab it.
"Okay, if you would let me go," Arin tried to escape again, but to no avail.
"Hmmm, no," I answered, "You'll just have to watch me play, instead."
Arin rolled on top of me, attempting to trap me. I certainly was stuck now, but at least I was stuck with fluffy blankets.
"Now you know that I- agh!" I pushed Arin off, interrupting his sentence.
"Are you okay?" I checked in on him, laughing when I saw him just laying on the couch, face down, not even trying to get up.
"I'm fine," Arin sighed, his voice muffled by the couch.
I sat him back up, "Alright, just let me set up the game real quick," I get up, looking back at Arin occasionally to make sure he didn't fall again.
When I made my way back to Arin, I noticed that he had somehow broken free from the blankets. He was sitting there with a smirk on his face, clearly proud of himself.
"I could've done that at any time, I just wanted to make sure you wouldn't catch me," Arin explained, still smiling widely.
"Okay, fine," I pretend to be angry, which got a laugh out of Arin.
"Good," Arin pulled me back down so we were both seated comfortably.
Arin grabs the controller, "My turn first," he ordered.
"Okay, okay," I grin at his enthusiasm towards the game. He played for a while, but was eventually met with the game over screen.
"Dammit!" He shouted in frustration, to my amusement. He saw me holding back a laugh, and said, "You try it!" He shoved the controller towards me.
"It's not even hard, see?" I demonstrated this by almost instantly losing.
"Yea," Arin shouted sarcastically, "Not tough at all!"
"Yea, look at how pro I am. I'm gonna speed-run!"
"Jon's speed-run, start!" Arin looked on, expecting me to fail. It was hardly a speed-run, but I did win.
We shared some more laughs, but had to power down the console at some point, as we were getting pretty tired of the game, as great as it was. Besides, we had to get dinner.
