Daryl;
"Did I hear him right?" Sarah asked from beside me, "He did say that? That we're going to move them all?"
"Yeh, he said it," I muttered, crossing the room to where Rick was in a discussion with Glenn, "Rick. Yer serious 'bought all this?"
He nodded, "We can't risk 'em getting out. We need to do this."
"You're going to have to show us this place," Glenn said, "We all need to see what we're going up against. I wouldn't feel comfortable going in there blind."
I agreed with him, "He's right. We jump in a car, ye' can take us there before dark."
He shook his head, "No. Everyone needs to see this. They need to see what is out there and how much danger they're actually in. We'll take a few at a time."
"Alrigh', I'll take Sarah."
Nodding, he started to leave the house, following after Deanna, "Get your bike and meet us by the gates."
Sarah looked up at me as I returned to her side, "C'mon. We're goin' to see this quarry and then we'll try 'nd work out a plan."
"Sounds good," she mumbled, following me back out the door, "Taking the bike?"
"We are."
"Even better."
*********
We followed Rick, who was taking Glenn, Michonne, Maggie and Abraham in the car to the stretch of road that he obviously needed to show us. We parked up and started making our way through the forest and even though we weren't exactly close, you could hear the loud groans.
"It's just through here," Rick said quietly, gesturing to trees up ahead, "I don't think they'll see us."
One by one, we filtered out from our cover and when we did see what we would be going up against, Sarah wordlessly grabbed my hand.
"Holy shit."
"Motherdick."
There had to be at least a thousand of them in there and Rick was wanting us to somehow get them out of there.
"How the hell are we supposed to do this?" I asked, knowing that no one else would ask.
"That's what we need to figure out." Rick said, "And fast. Like I said before we can't be sure about how long they'll be contained for."
"Well we should go now," Sarah mumbled, "'Cause I don't want to alarm anyone but it doesn't look like those trucks aren't going to hold for much longer."
He nodded, "Yeah. And we will. Let's go."
Everyone agreed with him and we started walking back to the vehicles and I wrapped my arm around Sarah's shoulders, tugging her into my side which caused her to smile.
"Can't we figure out a way to kill them while they're in there?" Michonne asked, "Y'know, keep this contained?"
"I don't think so," Maggie mumbled, "Not unless you have some sort of special weapon you're not telling us about."
Looking dejected, she followed Rick back to the car, slamming the door behind her.
Back on the bike, I rode up alongside the car, where Rick wound down the window, "We'll head back, get another car and bring a few of them back."
"Alrigh'," I nodded, "I'll meet ye' later."
"Deanna's house. That's where we'll come up with a plan."
Sarah's arms tightened around me as we overtook them, "You still need to let me drive this thing!"
"I know!" I yelled over the engine, "'nd ye' will. Jus' not now."
She then rest her head on my shoulder, "Alright."
**************
Sarah;
Maybe forty five minutes later, we were all back in Deanna's living room, waiting for Rick and when he did return, we all jumped straight into coming up with a plan.
"We have to move them. There's no doubt about that," Tobin told everyone who hadn't seen the walkers, "Rick was right. If they get out, we don't stand a chance and they're gonna head straight for us."
"Is there anyway we can lure them away?" I asked, "Y'know, use a flare or something like that?"
Rick nodded, pointing a finger at me, "That's what I was thinking. We put a couple people in cars, maybe Daryl on his bike. It makes more noise and will keep them interested."
At the mention of his name, I gently squeezed his leg from my position on the floor in front of him.
I know that the bike is faster than the walkers but god, I can't help but think about all the bad things that could happen. He could fall off, which let's be real, probably won't happen. He could run out of fuel and the walkers would swarm him in minutes. Seconds even depending on how far ahead he was from them.
His hand came to cover mine as he leant forward while Rick continued to explain the plan he had suddenly come up with.
"I need volunteers to help with this. As many as possible."
Since Daryl was already in, I started to put my hand up but he shoved it back down and I turned to look at him, my eyebrows furrowed.
"No." he muttered, "Ye' ain't comin'. It's too dangerous 'nd I'm not risking it."
Seeing that he was leaving no room for argument, I nodded, turning to look back at Rick.
Sasha and Abraham were going to help Daryl which reassured me a little bit. If something did go wrong, at least there was a couple of people to help him.
Glenn and Nicholas, for goodness knows what reason, volunteered along with Michonne, Tobin and a few others but when Gabriel offered to help, Rick immediately shot him down.
"So wait, we're just supposed to follow you? After everything that's happened?" a man, I don't even think I know his name, said, "After..."
"After what?" Rick asked.
"After yo-"
"Enough!"
Everyone's gaze turned to look at Deanna, who was standing by the window, "Carter, that's enough. You'll carry out the plan Rick has come up with."
Carter sighed and ran his hand over his head, "Go over the plan again."
"Man, he jus' said it!" Daryl growled from behind me.
"The exact plan," Carter continued, ignoring him, "Word for word."
