Sarah;
The man stared up at me with the same smile on his face and I nodded.
"Sure. Just give me a minute."
"He said now," Dwight growled and pointed the crossbow he was carrying at me.
"Dwight," Negan said quietly, "Lower the damn weapon. Giver her some time, we're guests." he looked back up at me, "Please, continue."
"He probably wouldn't even hit me." I muttered, "Can't shoot for shit."
Before I moved away from the edge of the wall, I swear I saw that Negan was laughing and then I turned, relief washing over me when I saw Rick, Daryl and Carol making their way over. The rest of the community were, with good reason, hanging back up by the houses.
"You good?" Daryl asked as I reached the bottom of the ladder and I nodded.
"How many has he brought?"
"Two. Him and Dwight are that's here. Doesn't mean that he doesn't have anyone hiding and waiting for him to give them a signal. He's too smart for that." I answered, looking towards the gate when he began hitting it again with the bat.
"I'm getting impatient!"
Rick nodded and I moved to the gate, pulling it open.
"Thank you kindly, ma'am." Negan grinned, stepping over the threshold of the community, Dwight following timidly behind him, as if he were scared to come in.
I slammed the gate after the two of them, smirking slightly when the latter jolted with the sound before I returned to the space between Rick and Daryl.
"Nice to see you again, Rick."
All he got in reply was a nod and sensing that no one was in the mood for meaningless conversations, Negan turned back to me, "I would very much like it if you could give us a tour of this fine place."
"No way," Daryl growled, stepping closer, only to have his crossbow pointed at him and he stopped short, looking at Rick, "She ain't doin' it."
Rick nodded and looked back at the intimidating man, "I-"
"May I remind you that you are in no position to make decisions," Negan smirked, raising the bat slightly, "Besides, what am I gonna do? Kill her?"
I placed my hand on Daryl's arm when he tensed beside me, shaking my head when he met my eyes. "It's okay," I whispered, squeezing his hand, "I can do it."
"See?" Negan said happily, "Even the lady herself isn't scared. Now please, after you."

Daryl;
I watched with a scowl on my face as Sarah led the man up towards the houses and he turned to look at the three of us.
"Dwight, you're not needed. Stay here and keep the fine gentlemen company."
I rolled my eyes. That's all I needed.
The blonde nodded, puffing out his chest under the scrutinizing gaze of his leader. Pathetic if you ask me.
Rick was also watching Sarah as the two of them disappeared, only looking away when Dwight chuckled, "Something funny?"
"Did quite a number on you, didn't I?" he asked, looking directly at me.
"Shut your mouth," I hissed, "He ain't here to protect you now."
He kept the smirk on his scarred face, "No. He isn't, is he? He's with your girl. Now he says he wouldn't do nothing, but Negan? See, he's a man of impulse. She says something he don't like," he clicked his tongue, "Could be curtains."
Rick stepped in between us, back to him, "He won't do anything. He's just trying to get a rise outta you!"
"Yeah, well it's working." I hissed, "I can't stand here, man. Not when she's walking around with him on her own."
"Sarah can handle herself," he said, "Okay, you know that."
I nodded, "'m goin' to find them."
"Alright," he mumbled and I felt both his and Dwight's eyes on my retreating back.

Sarah;
"So," Negan began when we were a decent way away, "What do you call youself?"
"Sarah," I answered politely, "Sarah Dixon."
He hummed to himself, "Nice to finally put a name to the face. And the man by the gate. He's your-"
"Husband? Yes." I finished, "His name is Daryl. Why do you want to know?"
"I'm just making conversation," he said, holding his hands up, "But if you'd rather do this is silence, so be it."
I did just that until we came to the infirmary, where inside, Eric and Rosita were watching us from the windows, "This is our infirmary."
"You have a doctor? Medications?"
"We had one. But Dwight killed her." I muttered, "As for meds, we're doing okay."
"Good," he said quietly, "But I'm sorry about your docto-"
"Denise," I interrupted, "Her name was Denise."
"Denise," he repeated and for a second, I thought he actually looked genuine, "I'm sorry about Denise. You mind if I take a look inside?"
"Of course not."
After brief introductions, both Eric and Rosita kept their distance while Negan seemed to inspect every inch of the place. It was like he was doing a mental inventory of everything we had.
"This is impressive," he said, looking at me once he seemed to be done, "But what I really want to see, is your armoury."
He was impressed with that as well, letting out a low whistle at the vast array of weapons that we had stocked and he gave me a smile, "I think we're going to be great partners."
Daryl found us at the church, a stern expression on his face as he approached while Negan was checking out one of the back rooms.
"How's things goin'?" he asked, hand resting on my waist, "He been alrigh'?"
I nodded, wiping a bit of dirt from his vest, "Yeah, we're getting on fine."
"Ah, here he is!" Negan said loudly, "Daddy Dixon. I was just about to ask your lovely wife about how she was feeling."
"I'm fine," I mumbled, "Nothing to report."
"No morning sickness?"
"None. Not yet anyway."
"Good," he hummed, then looked at Daryl, "Is your man still down by the gate? It's time to talk."
