Emi stood in front of the huge entrance. She was able to see thanks to the full moon shining above her. Her eyes were trained on the boy in front of her as he smiled and grabbed her hand.
The sign on top of the entrance said 'AMUSEMENT PARK' although some letters were missing, leaving only the outline of the letter made in dust.
"Why are we here?" Emi asked.
"Why shouldn't we be?" Suzuya countered.
"Because the gate said ' do not enter-"
"And we have to do what a sign says? Live a little" Suzuya said and Emi rolled her eyes.
"But why an abandoned amusement park?" She asked.
"I don't know " Suzuya shrugged and walked forward.
They stepped through the gates of what was, many years ago, the biggest amusement park in their ward. Emi looked around. Most of the rides were missing. But some reamined, the ones that were broken. The grass was tall. It tickled Emi's ankles with each step she took.
"Hey Suzuya. I've got to tell you something" Emi bit her lip.
It's time...
"Hold it for a second" Suzuya said glancing up at the rusty ferris wheel. He stood completely still for a moment until he finally turned to Emi.
"Do you want to go up there?" he asked.
"What? No way. What if it breaks?" Emi asked.
"It won't. Trust me" Suzuya reassured her.
"Suzuya.."
Emi's doubts vanished from her mind as Suzuya's warm lips were placed on top of hers. He cupped Emi's cheek with one hand and the other cupped her neck. Quickly gaining entrance to her mouth, Suzuya rolled his tongue against hers at a painfully slow rate. He bit Emi's lip before pulling away.
"Please" Suzuya said.
Emi nodded as she stared up at the huge wheel.
"We're climbing to the top" Suzuya said.
"Who needs climbing?" Emi smirked and a pair of black Crystal-like wings sprouted from her back, almost disappearing in the dark of the night. She spread them and grabbed Suzuya's hand, taking flight.
They soared through the air at an amazingly fast rate. Emi squeezed Suzuya's hand tighter to prevent him from falling and flew towards the highest seat on the top. As she gently let go of Suzuya, her wings contracted and disappeared from sight.
"That was helpful " Suzuya grinned and Emi laughed.
"Nice way of starting our last date " Emi said.
There was a long pause before Emi spoke.
"Suzuya.. What if we never get to see each other again?" he watched as Emi looked down fiddling with her fingers.
"Are you saying that because of tomorrow?" he asked and she nodded, it was half the truth, at least.
"Just don't think about that, okay?" Suzuya smiled and Emi gave him a confused look.
"How can you be so happy and cheerful knowing you're risking your life tomorrow?"
"It's just better to live in the present" he shrugged.
"Why?"
"The past makes you want to die out of regret. And the future makes you depressed out of anxiety. So by elimination, the present is likely the happiest time" Suzuya answered simply.
