"Shinohara-san" I greeted entering his office. He didn't even acknowledge me.

"Shinohara-san?" I asked walking towards him. He finally raised his head and I was met with a glare.

"You missed the meeting"

"Oh, yeah. Sorry about that" I laughed sheepishly. "I had other important things to do"

"What could possibly be more important than this? You were chosen for this special mission. Show some responsibility for once"

"Geez, sorry. I was saying my goodbyes"

His eyes changed from mad to curious but I could tell he was trying to hide it.

"To who?"

"To Emi, my... girlfriend" I smiled wide and Shinohara chuckled.

"Wasn't she just a friend?"

"Not anymore. She's my lady" I smiled proudly.

"I thought I'd never see the day..." Shinohara shook his head laughing.

"We'll be quick to finish the mission so you can see each other again" shinohara said.

"Actually, she's moving away. But she promised she'll come back" I said with hope noticeable in my voice.

"Oh... I'm sorry to hear that. You must be really sad"

"At first I was, but not anymore"

"Why?"

"Because" I smiled. "I know she loves me. Or at least she loved me when she left, and that's enough for me"

"Wow, Suzuya. A couple of months ago I would've never thought you would be talking about love like this. I'm proud of you" Shinohara patted my back.

"What are we doing in this mission?" I asked.

"Well, do you remember the red spider?"

"Yep"

"We have our men tracking them down. We're doing an extermination" he said.

"Do you think they'll be strong?" I grinned excitedly.

"No doubt about that" he answered.

"I can't wait!"

Emi POV

"You have a pretty relationship with that kid, you know ..."

"Shut up. You don't have the right to talk about that"

"What? Can't I talk about my daughter's love life?" the man in front of me smirked.

"Not when you're the one destroying it"

"Now now Emi. Don't be so harsh. I did it out of love. You're a ghoul and he's an investigator. It was never meant to be"

"You talk like you know me. News flash, you don't and you never did. I would take dying in the arms of investigators any day if it means getting away from you"

"I let you live alone all your life because you wanted to. Isn't that enough liberty?"

"You put a tracking device on my thigh! Or did you forget about that?" I growled.

"You are my daughter and I had to know where you were. I am simply doing my job as a father"

"You'll never be my father. Not now, not ever" I said and he laughed.

"Whatever you say sweetie. Now let's keep moving. If the night catches us we're in trouble. I'm pretty sure you've heard about the CCG's mission. Don't wanna get in their way"

Suzuya POV

" On this mission you will be divided into four groups. I will be assigning them now" one of the leaders for this mission said.

He started calling out names and numbers. Putting people in different groups and sometimes rearranging them.

"Ok Suzuya. You'll be on squad number three, got it?" one of the leaders said.

"Yes sir!" I grinned.

"We will arrange in a triangle-like shape. Squad number one, you are the key for this mission. You will serve as the front peak of the triangle. You will exterminate any ghoul attacks coming from the front.

Squad number two. You will take the left side of the triangle. You will take out any ghouls coming from your left side.

Squad number four. You will be the right side of the triangle. Your job is to kill any and all ghouls coming from the right side.

Squad number three. You'll be right in the middle, between two and four. Your job is to block any ghouls coming from behind or above.

This is really important. If any of you fail, this mission is a lost battle. I want everybody in their game, alright? There's no room for mistakes. One slip up could cost you the life of every investigator here. Are we ready?"

"Yes sir!" we all said.

"Good. The Red Spider extermination mission has started!"

"Shinohara-san!" I waved him over. He was assigned to squad one.

"Juuzou, what is it?"

"How about we do a little competition?"

"I'm listening"

"The one who kills more ghouls wins, and the loser has to treat him to lunch" I smirked.

"You got a deal" Shinohara chuckled and I grinned before going back to our squads.

"I wonder how Emi's doing..." I whispered clutching my Jason.

"Suzuya! Why so down?" Amon came over.

"Nothing. I'm just thinking" I answered.

"Focus on the mission and think later, alright? This is really important for everyone"

"Yeah yeah. I got it Amon-kun" I rolled my eyes. He laughed and waved goodbye. I saw him talking to Akira-chan and smirked.

"Alright everyone! To your groups!" one of the leaders announced and everybody went back to their squads for the mission to begin.

"You're the best amongst the investigators. Don't let the CCG down. We will be victorious " And with that last sentence, the mission started.

Emi POV

I was standing right in the middle of my father's gang. We were about to leave.

"Alright people. As you know, the CCG investigators are loose. We've got to avoid them at all costs. We'll move in the shadows, it's not our time to fight yet. But don't worry, we'll get our chance"

The crowd, about 50 ghouls or so, erupted in cheers and my father chuckled.

"Be careful. And remember we're a group. It's impossible to handle the CCG alone. Together we can pull through"

The crowd once again erupted in cheers. I was surprised, I would've never thought my father would be able to say big words like those. Then again, I never spent time with him. But everyone here trusts him, I'll try my best not to give him shit.
