Chapter 9

I woke up with a pounding headache. I realized my wrist was bandaged up. It took me a minute to realize that I tried to kill myself. I looked beside me and saw Cameron sleeping in the chair next to my hospital bed.

"Cameron." I whispered. He opened his eyes and looked at me. His eyes were blood shot and his hair was a mess.

"Hi babe." I said, since he wouldn't speak.

"Hi baby girl." Cameron said and kissed my hand. I faked a smile.

"How do you feel?" He asked me.

"Okay I guess. I have a pounding headache though." I said and rubbed my forehead. He kissed my forehead to try make me feel better.

"Good morning Ms. Greenwood." The doctor said as he came in.

"Hi." I chirped.

"How are you?" He asked.

"Okay. Just have a headache." I said.

"Well, that's expected since you hit your head on the floor." The doctor said and pulled out his clip board.

"Can I ask you something Miss?" He asked. I nodded.

"Why did you try to commit suicide?" He asked while getting his pen out. I took a deep breath and sat up a bit.

"I just...um felt so hollow and lonely...then thoughts took over my head." I said and stared at the white blanket on my legs.

"We'll you can leave whenever you please. Good luck Miss." He said and left.

"Your mom bought you some clothes." Cameron said and stood up.

"I'll see you in the lobby." He said and left. I sighed and swung my legs onto the floor. With some strength I had, I stood up. I took off my hospital gown and changed into the clothes my mom brought me.

She brought me grey joggers, and a white crop top. Along with undergarments. I changed and looked at myself in the mirror in the bathroom.

My hair was a mess, I had bags under my eyes, and my bandaged wrist made me feel sick to my stomach. I looked away and walked to the door. I opened it an saw the people I love.

Bethany came and hugged me. She was slightly crying on my shoulder. I rubbed her back to calm her.

"Beth I'm okay." I said.

"I was afraid I was going to lose my best friend." She said as she cried more.

"Beth come her. Other people need to see her." I heard Shawn say. I walked up to him and gave him a bear hug.

"Hey kiddo." Shawn said and ruffled my hair.

"Hi." I said. I then felt someone tap my shoulder. I turned to see Jack G. I smiled and jumped into his arms. I haven't seen Jack in 8 months.

"Hey babes." Jack said into my hair.

"Hi." I giggled.

"How do you feel?" He asked.

"Okay." I said. He smiled and kissed my head. The next person I went to was my siblings and then my other best friend. Katey.

"Kate!" I yelled and ran to her. I hugged her and she hugged back.

"I missed you!" I said.

"I missed you too!" She said.

"How's Tay?" I asked as we pulled apart.

"He's good. He's coming back to L.A tomorrow." She smiled.

"I'm happy for you you Kate." I said and we hugged again.

"We should get you home." I heard Cameron say. I turned to see him looking everywhere but me. I walked to him and put my arms around his neck. He put on hand on my back. I sighed.

I pulled apart and rolled my eyes. I walked away and caught up with my brother. He put his arm around my shoulders and kissed the side of my head. I smiled.

I decided to ride home with Cameron to see why he wouldn't talk to me. I got in his car and buckled up. He got in after and did the same. He started the car and drove off. After about 10 minutes of silence, I had enough.

"Why won't you talk to me?" I asked through gritted teeth. He didn't answer.

"Just answer the God damn question!" I yelled which startled both of us. He looked at me.

"I'm pissed!" He yelled.

"Why is that?" I asked.

"You tried to kill yourself Alex!" He yelled and slammed one of his fists on the steering wheel.

"I have no idea what I would do without you!" He yelled once more.

"Well, Cameron this is a flaw I have. If you can't deal with me cutting or wanting to die then we can't be together." I said as tear fell.

"Alex that's not-"

"It is Cam. So call me when you've found the Cameron I love." I said and got out of his car. Thank god we are at my house. I walked up the cement stairs and into the house.

I walked over to the couch and sat down. Then my dog Charlie came and sat next to me. He laid his head in my lap and looked up at me.

"Boys are stupid Charlie." I said and ran my fingers through his soft fur. I then heard the door open. I turned my head and saw my brother.

"Hey Alex." He said and sat next to me.

"Hi." I said and sighed.

"Are you okay?" He asked.

"Um, Cam and I got in a fight." I said.

"Why?" He asked.

"Can I tell you later?" I asked.

"Sure." He said and kissed my head. He then left and walked upstairs. I started petting Charlie again until my phone buzzed on the coffee table. I picked it up and saw it was Jack.

From Jack😜💗- hey heard about your fight with Cam. He's and idiot.
To Jack😜💗- like you? Just kidding
From Jack😜💗- haha very cute. Cameron is an idiot but lucky to have you.
To Jack😜💗- yeah I guess and I gtg bye.
From Jack😜💗- bye

I shut my phone off and put it back on the coffee table. I laid my head on Charlie's back and closed my eyes. I soon fell into a deep sleep.
