Chapter 4

Things don't last forever.

"Alex get your ass up!" My mom yelled from downstairs. I groaned and rolled out of bed. I walked to my closet and got light washed skinny jeans, a white shirt, a black leather jacket, and my black combat boots.

I walked to the bathroom and pulled my hair into a high ponytail then brushed my teeth. I don't wear makeup that much. I like to keep it nice and simple.

I grabbed my book bag and slung it over my shoulders. I grabbed my phone off my charger and ran downstairs.

"Look who's finally up?" My mom snapped. I rolled my eyes and walked out the door. I decided to walk so i can clear my head.

As I was walking i saw a guy walking in front of me. I don't think I've seen him before. Huh. I decided to talk to him cause I need friends.

"Hey are you new?" I asked as I approached him. He turned to me and smiled a bit. He had blondish brownish hair, hazel eyes, and a jawline that could cut me.

"Um, yeah I am. I'm Max" he said and smiled.

"I'm Alex" I said and smiled back. We walked the rest of the way to school whiling making small talk.

We walked to the office to get his schedule. We have 1,5, and 7 together. He walked to his locker and I did the same. I grabbed my books and felt someone tap on my shoulder. I turned to see Cameron standing there with an angry expression on his face.

"Hi...Cam" I said slowly.

"Who's that kid you were walking with?" He asked and his facial expression turned soft.

"He's new. His name is max" I said and shut my locker. He nodded.

"Look Alex, can we pretend that kiss never happened? I mean I-" I cut him off.

"Yeah why not. How about we pretend that we never met. Oh wait that won't be hard for you Cam" I snapped. I turned and walked to my first period class.

I'm so glad the day is almost over.

I walked to my locker and gabbed my books I need for homework. Then someone slammed my locker. I turned and saw Cam standing in his baseball uniform. He must of just got down from practice.

"Can I help you?" I snapped.

"Can we please talk?" He asked.

"No" I said and walked down the hall to the exit. He grabbed my wrist and I winced in pain. He gave me a confused look.

"Can we please talk?" He begged. I looked at the floor.

"Only if you give me a ride home" I said and looked at my combat boots.

"Sounds good" he said and grabbed my hand leading my to his black mustang. He threw his baseball bag in the back seat and got in the car.

I threw my bag on the floor and buckled up. In his car he had a baseball shit in the back seat, money, and a picture of him and some girl an they looked young. Like 7th grade.

"Who are you with?" I asked while he pulled out and pointed to the picture. He chuckled and adjusted his snap back.

"That's, me and you" he said.

I smiled a bit.

"Alex I'm sorry about what I said about the kiss and everything I'm just worried were taking things to fast" he said.

I nodded.

I heard my phone beep and saw it was max. I smiled and texted back.

Max😊- hey when are we gonna hang?
Me- idk how bout tomorrow?
Max😊- perfect. see ya😉
Me-bye☺️

I put my phone down and noticed Cam was mad. His knuckles were white from gripping the steering wheel and his jaw was clenched.

"What's wrong" i asked.

"I don't want you to get hurt" he said and pulled into my driveway. I nodded.

"Want to come in?" I asked. He nodded yes. We got out and walked inside. I threw my book bag on the floor and took of my shoes. Cam did the same.

"So, what do you wanna do?" I asked.

"How about we watch Netflix" cam said. I shrugged and we walked upstairs to my room. We walked into my room and Cameron's eyes scanned my room until he saw the picture of him and I in 7th grade.

"I thought you hated me?" He asked.

"I don't hat you Cam. I like you" i said and played with my bracelet. He came over and sat next to me.

"I like you too" he said. I looked up into his beautiful brown eyes and felt butterflies in my stomach. I quickly looked away.

"So, um, I'm gonna make popcorn" I said and got up. I walked downstairs and grabbed some popcorn out of the cupboard. I threw it in the microwave and sat on the counter.

I then I heard a noise. I jumped down and walked slowly out of the kitchen. I turned the corner into the living and room and no one there.

"Cam?" I whispered. I didn't here anything back. I felt someone wrap there warm arms around my waist. I screamed a little.

"You ass!" I said and slapped Cams arm.

"Sorry" he giggled. I smiled a bit cause he's cute.

"Your lucky your cute mister" I said and walked back into the kitchen. Cameron followed of course. I jumped on the counter and Cam put his hands by my but leaning towards me.

"So I'm cute?" He asked. I laughed and kissed his cheek. He turned my head and was about to connect our lips.

"Alex! Sis where are you? I-" Justin stopped when he saw us.

"Hey Justin" I said. He smirked and glared at Cam to scare him a little. I giggled and Cam turned around and kissed my forehead.

"So Dallas, are we a thing or not?" I asked.

"Only if you want" he said and kissed my lips passionately. I kissed back and smiled through the kiss.

"Alex will you please be my girlfriend?" He asked.

"Yes" I said and jumped into his opened arms and wrapped my legs around his waist. His hands wrapped around my waist. 

Can't believe I have Cam.
