“How could you do this? I thought I taught you better.”

                “You didn’t teach me anything.”

His mother gasped slightly at his comment, “how can you talk to me like this?”

“I thought you would’ve been happy that I was trying to do something for us.”

“All you did was hurt a poor girl.”

Sebastian glared at his mother as she sat across the table from him, “I’m sending you away. I can’t even look at you,” she whispered.

“Their family hurt us, mum! Why can’t you understand that?”

“I do understand that, but that’s not the point!” Lavender Brown shouted. “I may hate the Malfoys but I would never want something so horrible like what you did to them.”

Sebastian stood up from his chair, since he returned home, his mother stopped talking to him. This was the first time they talked in a month, she was so upset with what he had done that she locked herself in her room.

“What has happened between your father and myself does not concern you—“

                “Yes it does,” Sebastian growled.

“Don’t raise your voice to me!” Lavender said forcefully.

“I didn’t expect you to act—“

“Like your mother? Like I wouldn’t be accepting to what you did to a family?” Lavender interjected, “I’m sending you away. I don’t want you around anymore, I can’t even look at you without feeling disgusted.”

Sebastian looked at his hands, he never expected his mother to act like this, yell and give a silent treatment but nothing like this. “Where are you sending me?”

“I haven’t thought of that yet,” Lavender rubbed her eyes as she stood up, taking her coffee cup with her. She placed it in the sink and turned around, staring at her son. She never thought she could feel so disappointed in her life. Was it because of her parenting? Because she was a single mother that he did this?

“What exactly did you hope to gain in all of this?” she asked quietly.

“I wanted revenge for what they did to us,” Sebastian said quietly.

Lavender sighed, “what exactly did they do?”

“They ruined our family. That's what you told me, you've told me for years that they ruined our lives."

Lavender snorted slightly as she stood up straight, “sweetheart, our family is just you and me. I may've believed that their mother ruined our lives but it was petty conversation, petty thoughts that meant nothing. If anything I've ruined our family by harping on the past and letting you know about all of this," she looked at him for an answer but found nothing. “Just go to your room. I’ll talk to you later.”
