"Did you hear what Austin did?"

"Yeah! He got so trashed that he wrecked the dormitories!"

"Oh god! I heard that he snogged a girl and then went right to another. Right in front of the last."

"Do you know who?!"

"I heard that he was found crying."

Rumors and gossip flooded the school of Hogwarts so much that even the professors couldn't help but listen in as students walked through the halls, whispering to each other as they moved through the school. Emily was sitting in her common room, doing work while a group of girls a year above her continued to whisper about Austin, her blood was boiling as she sat there-they couldn't be serious! Austin would never do any of that! Never ever, she'd stake her life on it.

"I heard that he's the one wrecking up the entire school at night."

Emily shut her books, before she could help it she stormed over to the group-all froze and looked up at her arrival.

"Malfoy...we...we weren't-"

"My brother is a great person, stop saying all these rumors! He'd never do any of that and you know it," Emily seethed.

One of the girls smirked, pushing her blonde hair over her shoulder, "honestly, Malfoy. You're so naïve, it is him who's causing all the messes around school. He fessed right up to McGonagall. And he truly is a player, you're just his sister so you can't see it."

"I bet you still want to snog him," Emily smirked.

The girl stammered and shook her head, "no possible chance!"

"Just go back to your books, Malfoy," one of the other girls commented.

"Austin is a great person and I will not have you gossiping false rumors about him," Emily stuck her chin up as she stood to her full height of just over five feet. "Next time I hear you-"

"Emily, what's going on over here?" Katelyn interrupted her, Katelyn looked over the group of girls as she raised an eyebrow. "Don't mess around with Emily, do you hear me? I'll give you detentions."

"You can't do that! That's abusing your power!" The blonde shouted.

Katelyn shrugged, "who will believe you against me?" The girls looked outraged but remained silent, "that's what I thought, let's go Emily."

Emily nodded once and followed behind her friend, "what go into you?"

"They were talking about Aussie and I just..." Emily let the sentence drift off as Katelyn stopped walking.

"You stuck up for your brother?" Katelyn questioned, slightly surprised.

"Of course!" Emily snorted as she gathered her belongings.

Katelyn gave a shocked expression before the two walked up the steps to their dormitories, "shocking is all."

Emily looked at her friend and frowned, "why is that so shocking?"

"Because....you and Austin aren't even talking to each other," Katelyn looked at her confused.

Emily paused as she put her things on her bed, "I still love my brother. He may hate me but I still care about him."
