Emily hurried to potions, she had overslept which meant no breakfast and she wouldn’t get to see Austin and the guys until lunch. Emily ran to the dungeons but came to a halt when she fell to the ground.

“I-I-I-I’m so sorry! I didn’t watch where I was going,” Emily stammered as she flipped her almond colored curls over her shoulder and picked up her bag.

“It’s perfectly fine,” his smile was captivating, Emily could just stare at him all day.

“I-I-I should get going,” Emily whispered as her eyes scanned Sebastian’s face—his perfect face.

“You’re Austin Malfoy’s little sister aren’t you?” Sebastian asked, his smile growing slightly.

Emily nodded as she shuffled from foot to foot, suppose it wouldn’t kill her to be one more minute late to potions. Sebastian chuckled and smirked slightly, “well. I’ll be seeing you around, Emily.”

“Y-yeah, I’ll see you around!” Emily smiled before running to class.

“You’re so late!” Rory hissed as Emily sat down beside her best friend.

“Oh shut it, like you’ve never been late before?” Emily hissed back as she began working on the potion for the class.

Rory snorted as he passed her a few sausage links wrapped in toast which Emily took happily, “what happened?”

“I overslept and then I ran into you know who,” Emily grinned at Rory. Rory scowled slightly as he added a tablespoon of crushed up rosemary to his potion.

“What did he want?” Rory frowned.

“He just said hi and that’s it,” Emily shrugged. Rory mumbled something under his breath but Emily ignored him as she started her own potion, she didn’t care what Rory had to say. She was happy, happy that she was noticed by Sebastian Brown for just a brief minute in time.

“So you didn’t tell me how your dad was last weekend,” Emily spoke up trying to change the subject as she began to make the rosemary smaller.

“Better than he’s been lately,” Rory whispered as he stirred the contents of the cauldron.

Emily patted Rory’s arm, “that’s great.” Rory nodded and sighed as he tried to look anywhere but into those grey eyes that knew every dark secret he had. “I miss her too, Rory.”

Rory shook his head once and held up a hand, “just…stop alright?”

Emily gave a small smile and nodded, Rory had lost his mum five months ago, she was an incredible person—chaser on the London National Quidditch team. Everyone knew her as Angelina Johnson, but to Rory she was always his mother and to Emily she was like a second mother. It was heartbreaking when Emily heard the news that Angelina had been tragically injured by one of the Weasley products going berserk. After the tragic death, the Diagon Alley shop was closed, no one was able to go back in there; Emily was surprised that Rory had returned to school this year. He had been so distraught over losing his mother that everyone had believed that he wouldn’t be returning for a new year.

                “I’m sorry Rory,” Emily whispered.

“Here, you need the newt’s toe now.” Rory said gruffly as he shoved the small bowl towards her.
