Kellin's POV

"Kid, you need to move." Somebody said along with a small kick at my leg. Right now I was sitting on the side of some old building. I didn't think the place was still up and running, so I assumed it wouldn't hurt to rest here.

I sighed and looked up at the person who spoke to me, expecting to see, well, I'm not sure what I was expecting, but certainly it wasn't him. The guy before me looked to be at least thirty and was in serious need of shower. I know it had been a while since I had one myself, but this guy looked like he had been sleeping in a garbage bin the past week.

"Why should I?" I asked, trying not at all to sound respectful. He was like me, so I knew how he was, and I knew he didn't deserve any sweet talk or kind words. He was a bum on the side of the road, nothing more. And I had been walking all day in the cold, so there was no way I was going to move from this spot for the rest of the night. He was just going to have to find somewhere else to sleep tonight.

"Then I'll just take this." He said before taking my backpack that I had placed beside me. Panic rose inside me. The bag was my lifeline. It held everything that I owned, if I lost it, I would officially have nothing but the clothes on my back.

"Give it back." I said before pushing him, thinking he would go down easy.

I was wrong.

I stumbled into the building in some serious pain. I still can't believe that guy punched me square in the face, but hey, at least I got my bag back.

I knew this place I was currently in allowed people to sleep here, not that I was planning to stay here long, but I did need somewhere to rest. With this shiner and the lack of food I've had these past two days, I could use a few minutes. I spotted an empty seat and took it, not really bothering to look around. I would just be in here for a short time, and then I'll leave.

I sat and let my eyes close, But They were only shut for a few moments before somebody was tapping me on the shoulder. I jumped in the seat, scared that maybe that guy had followed me and wanted another hit at me. Instead of seing the rough, dirty guy, I was met with a guy that looked much cleaner. He couldn't be much older than me, and he had such a nice smile.

I decided I didn't trust him.

"Hello." He greeted. "Would you like some food? or some water at least. Oh no, But you look tired, I can see if there's any room in the back for you. I'm not sure if we have any more blankets but- Oh, my word!" he exclaimed at the end, scaring me. "What happened to your eye, are you okay?" He asked.

This guy spoke a mile a minute, I had no idea what question he wanted me to answer, or even what the first question was.

"Um..no?" I said because I had forgot what the last question was. I then stood up and tried to leave, but he was quick to step in front of me and stop me.

"Please, let me help you." He said. As nice as this guy may seem, I know I couldn't trust him. I couldn't trust anyone.

"I promise I wont hurt you. I just want to put some ice on your eye." He said with a smile. No, actually he had been smiling since I first saw him and has just never stopped. I checked this guy out, making sure he didn't have anything on him that could potentially hurt me. It didn't look like it. He was only wearing some plain, black jeans and a blue long sleeve. So I just nodded and agreed to let him help me, but if he tried anything funny, I wouldn't hesitate to kick his ass.

He then asked me to follow him, and that's when I realized just how big this place really was. Where we previoulsly were in was a large room that pretty much resmebed a school cafeteria. And we were now walking down a hallway that had many rooms, but they all had doors that were closed, so I had no idea what was held behind them. That made me feel a bit uneasy. We stopped at the sixth door- because I counted all of them, and he opened a door to what looked almost like the nurses office that you would see in an elementary school.
