Chapter 2: Happy and guilty

Chapter 2

Katniss P.O.V.

When Clay and I enter the campus we go our separate ways. Clay seeks his way to the boys corridors and I to the girls. We said we'll meet up in a few hours though.

It takes me a while to find the right corridor and the right room. By the time I found the right dorm room I'd gotten lost three times and crashed into the wrong room. So I'm happy when I find the right one.

When I open the door though I feel this familiar sting in my stomach. I can see that this is a big room containing five beds and five desks and the room is connected to one bathroom. It's not that big of a room though because with these five beds and desks it's pretty tight in the room, but roomy enough to walk around in. Four of the beds and desks are occupied, the beds are made and there's bags on them. The desks has stuff on them. The only bed left is beside the window and the desk is standing by the foot of the bed.

I put down my bags onto the empty bed and sit down. Things in this room seems really familiar to me. But I can't put my finger on what.

I start to unpack. I start by making my bed, and put up posters on the walls by my bed. I put my school things onto the desk. Books, pens, notepads. I also put a pink desk lamp into the desk and plug it it. I put it on and the room fills with a warm pink light.

"Katniss?!"

I spin around so quickly I almost loose my balance. In the doorway I see four girls. One with red hair, one with black hair and two with blond hair. One of the blond girls has her hair set up with a light blue ribbon.

Annie looks so familiar. Like no time has passed at all. Her hair is up in a donut on top of her head. She's looking at me like she can't believe her eyes.

No wonder I felt like this room was familiar, of course. Each one of the girls has decorated their sides of the rooms like their rooms in their parents houses. And so have I. Like we've mixed our rooms together in one.

I smile at them.

"Yep", I say. "I'm back".

Annie runs up to me and embraces me in a tight hug.

One by one the girls hugs me. Oh god I've missed them all so much. I don't know if I realized how much I've missed them before now, before actually seeing them again.

"Omg we've missed you so much", Annie says, hugging me for the third time. "Did you miss us?"

"Of course I did Annie!" I say. "And Clay missed you guys too".

"Clayton is here?" Madge asks.

I look at her, surprised by hearing Clays full name. I giggle.

"It sounds weird hearing you say Clayton", I say. "But yah, he's here, and he's attending this college as well".

"Oh great!" Delly says. "How's it going with him and his girlfriend?"

"Good, they both feel pretty bad about this though, Jasmine didn't want anything else but to come here, she actually got accepted to this college but her parents didn't want her to go, so we'll see if she comes".
