as an older sister
our only job is to
give advice to our
younger sisters only
if they ask for it
and to be there when
they ultimately fall
because let's face it
they aren't going to listen to us
the same way we didn't
listen to our mothers before us
that's why there are girls
out there still making mistakes
girls who are still getting
their hearts broken by the wrong guy
girls who are still frantically
searching for themselves
in the end
we're all just young wild girls
trying to prove
that we can find love in dark places
that there is good in everyone
that magic does indeed exist
and sometimes
we can find these things
but a lot of times we can't
and we cry about it
and it's ok to cry
but we vow to never cry forever
and we go back to searching
searching for all the beauty in our little world
