Lisa's POV

I woke up this morning to hear loud noises coming from across the street. That was fine since I needed to get up  for boxing anyways but I would have rather woken up by myself then by an annoying noise.
I knew that an older man lived across the street and it sounded like power tools which was really weird. Old people generally don't do work outside since it's to hard for them.
I looked out my window to see Tom (the old guy that lives across the street) and Chase. Tom was standing in a shadier area of his front lawn while Chase looked like he was working on something in his front yard. I know that Tom and his wife are the only ones that live in that house so I'm wondering if Chase has a job in landscaping or something and that's why he was there.

I started getting ready to go to boxing and I ran downstairs to go get some breakfast before I left. I ate quickly and then grabbed my stuff before walking out front to my car.
As I walked out front I looked in Chase's direction to see that he was already looking at me. He started walking from the curb and crossed the street heading my way.
He gave me that same smirk he did two days ago. I gave him a small smile while shaking my head at the way he smirked at me.
He may be sweating and working outside but somehow he still managed to look good. He's wearing a white shirt and black soccer Adidas sweats. He has work gloves on and a black hat that was turned backwards on his head.

Chase- "Wow two times in a few days. This is my lucky week."
Lisa- "You can't say you're lucky, you don't even know me."
Chase- "Well.. I know your name is Lisa, I know your Alex's friend, and unless you're here visiting someone I'm guessing that you live here."
Lisa- "Those 3 things do not mean you know me."
Chase- "Well we do have mutual friends so maybe I will soon." His side smirk grew. I couldn't help but let out a small laugh at his quick remarks back. I couldn't tell if I hated him or liked him yet. I decided to change the subject since I couldn't think of anything to say back to him.
Lisa- "What are you doing over here anyways? Do you work in landscaping?"
Chase- "No I'm actually a firefighter. But Tom needed help fixing some stuff around his house so I thought I would come over and help him."
Lisa- "Doesn't that ruin the bad boy image you're trying to go for?"
Chase- "I'm not going for any image. I just let people think what they want about me."
Lisa- "Even if it's the bad guy. You don't want to change that?"
Chase- "No. Not really. But I've got to go. Maybe I'll run into you again soon."
He then turned around and walked away before I even said goodbye.
I was actually surprised at how little he cared. Part of me truly believes that he probably is a bad guy just based on his tone in every conversation. But then a small part or me thinks that he's not. I mean do bad guys help old people fix things? Do they work as firefighters to help people?
It's bordering on being annoying because I can't wrap my head around him. It's like I want to not like him and avoid him, but another part of me feels like I can't hate him because I don't really believe he's bad.
And the fact that he is mysterious makes me want to know. I didn't know anything about him. All I knew is what other people thought of him.
