Part 17

~1 week later~

Lisa's POV

Chase is on his way over to my house right now to have dinner with my family. Hopefully it's just laid back and not super awkward. Dani and Lauren are having a few friends come over too so hopefully that will help. And it's not like this is Chases first time meeting my family. He's been to a couple of my brothers sports games with me and he came over for thanksgiving so at least this isn't the first time he's meeting them.
I was at my parents already and he was meeting me over here. I told him to text me when he's here so I could meet him at the door so he wasn't attacked with questions right away.
I also already told my family that he was in foster care and not to ask about his family so that they didn't make him feel uncomfortable. I felt my phone vibrate in my pocket so I looked down to check it.

Chase- Just pulled up

I jumped up to go get the door and saw him walking up the driveway after I opened it. I gave him a tight hug and kissed his cheek as I invited him in. He smiled at me as I walked with him into the kitchen. He immediately made his way to both my parents. He hugged my mom and shook my dad's hand.

Chase- "Thank you guys for having me over tonight." He smiled warmly at both of my parents. Then I heard Christina come in the kitchen.
Christina- "Ah Chase! Just the guy I was looking for!" She said it and I could tell she was trying to sound intimidating.
Chase- "Hey it's good to see you again!" He said really politely. Luckily I warned him that she might be a little crazy.
Christina- "Yeah I bet it is! Come on let's go to the living room to chat!"
Chase started walking with her. While they were walking out of the kitchen he turned around and raised his eyebrows up while giving me a nervous look. I mouthed "Sorry you'll be fine!" As he walked out.

Christina's POV

Christina- "So you and my sister started going out almost 2 months ago and now you've been official for a couple weeks. I really don't want to intimidate you I just like to push Lisa's buttons. I really just want to know who my sister's dating." I smiled at him and he let out a small laugh.
Chase- "Fair enough! What do you want to know?"
Christina- "Well I want to make sure you have good intentions. I'm protective over my sisters feelings."
Chase- "I have nothing but good intentions. I can promise you that."
Christina- "Okay. So tell me the fun details! I know how you guys met but I kind of thought you guys were just friends. What made you want to go out with her?"
Chase- "I just liked that she was real. There wasn't anything fake, she wasn't trying to hide who she really was. She was just fun and awesome to be around."
I smiled at him because when he talked about her he lit up. It was almost instant. As soon as he started to say what he loved about her I could see his smile form and joy in his eyes.
Christina- "She told me that you helped her a lot when she was feeling anxious about different things. And I knew when she told me that, that you would be a great guy for her. So I didn't even really want to fake giving you a hard time because you seemed too nice. But it's fun to make Lisa mad."
We both laughed and then started talking about how we hate dumb drivers. I know that's a really random topic change but we were both annoyed about the same thing so we just kind of got annoyed about it together. Then we walked back out where Lisa was with some of our family. Chase went back by Lisa's side and I smiled in her direction.
I'm happy for her. I can see that he makes her happy and I truly believe he has good intentions. But if he doesn't I'll have to hurt him. But I think he already knows that so I'll spare telling him those details.

Lisa's POV

Lisa- "So did she hassle you the whole time? I mean you're alive so that's a good sign haha"
Chase- "It was good she's really nice!"
Lisa- "She wasn't mean or a little crazy?"
Chase- "No not at all. I think she approves." He smirked at me.
Lisa- "Wow I'm pretty impressed! You won over my family pretty quick haha"
Chase- "Yeah they are a lot easier to win over then you!" He said jokingly.
I slapped his arm lightly and let out a laugh.
Chase- "Abuse!"
Lisa- "Don't be so dramatic! Haha"

All night we had a great time. Chase was really good with my family. He could go from talking to my little brothers about there sports, to talking with my dad about work and he could talk with my sisters about almost anything they brought up. He was super social and outgoing. It made it so much easier for them to accept him since he was really good at socializing with everyone. It never got awkward. And by the end of the night I felt that my family had really started to like him and I could sense that they were happy that Chase and I were together. I caught myself looking at him with a smile formed widely on my face.
It's weird how I didn't even need to be talking with him directly for him to make me happy and smile.
