You and Me- Lisa Cimorelli (Fanfic)

Part 5

Lisa's POV

Since I just had to buy rolls I don't have to cook or get anything ready. I'm leaving to go over to my parents at around 3:30ish. I was already dressed and ready to go but I had some time to kill so I decided to go on different social media sites to pass time by. I was thinking about how I had to leave in 15 minutes when I heard a knock on my door. I wasn't expecting anyone to come over so I was a little confused who it would be.

I walked up to the front door and turned the knob. As I pulled the door open I saw Chase standing on the other side. He was still wearing his navy blue firefighter shirt and navy blue plants so I'm assuming he came straight from work. I smiled with a confused look on my face.

Lisa- "Uh hi. What are you doing here?" I said letting out a small laugh.
Chase- "So I've been thinking about the other day, and I know what people say about me. But I want to prove to you that I'm not a bad guy."
Lisa- "Well how are you gonna do that?" I felt a small smile form on my face.
Chase- "Well here's the thing. I'm not very good at this whole making friends thing. But you and I are gonna be friends."
Lisa- "Who says I want to be your friend?"
Chase- "Well I'm assuming you don't want to be friends. But if you give me a chance, we can hang out and I can show you that I'm not as bad as you might think I am."
Lisa- "When were you planning on hanging out to prove this?"
Chase- "What are you doing right now?"
Lisa- "Chase it's Thanksgiving haha"
Chase- "Oh right. Okay that was stupid."
Lisa- "Do you not have any plans tonight?" I was kind of surprised he wasn't doing something to celebrate with his family or friends.
Chase- "Uh no I've been working a lot this week so I didn't plan on doing anything today."
Lisa- "Everyone should be somewhere celebrating Thanksgiving. So I'll tell you what, you can come with me over to my family's house. And maybe in that time you can show me the side of you that you want me to see. How's that?"
Chase- "That sounds perfect. Yeah!" He smiled but not the same smile he normally has. It wasn't full of arrogance. It was just a regular, happy smile.
Chase- "Uhm I kind of just got off of work so do you think I could drive home really quick and change then meet you back here?"
Lisa- "Yeah absolutely."
Chase- "What time were you supposed to be there?"
Lisa- "Well I was supposed to be leaving in like 15 minutes. Haha"
Chase- "Oh crap. I'll hurry I promise! I'll be right back!" He started jogging quickly to his car. I couldn't help but laugh because it was kind of cute how serious he was taking this.
He drove off in his black jeep and turned the corner. I went to sit on the couch and waited for him to come back.
I felt bad that he wasn't spending time with his family or friends though on a holiday. I couldn't imagine not spending a holiday with mine especially since we've always been so close.
A little over 20 minutes later I saw Chase pull up. He got out and knocked on my door once again. Dang he looked good (Picture of Chase's character above). My sisters are going to be so weird about this when I show up with a cute boy that they weren't expecting to come. I mean it's not going to be awkward cause it's not like we're even really friends yet but sometimes they are overly expressive when they see a cute guy.

Chase- "You ready to go? I can drive if you want."
Lisa- "Yeah let's go!" I smiled and grabbed the rolls and we walked out the door.

As I got in his jeep he looked over at me and smiled. We started driving and sat in silence for a minute before he spoke up.

Chase- "Is your family going to be okay with me intruding... Especially since it's so last minute?"
Lisa- "Yeah they will be fine with it! I already texted my mom to let her know that I was bringing someone."
Chase- "Okay do your parents like wine? I have this bottle of red wine and I don't drink so I brought it in case they might like it."
Lisa- "Yeah they do! That was nice you didn't have to do that."
Chase- "Well I didn't want to show up to their house empty handed."

Tonight I'm determined to get to know him at least a little bit more. A little bit is better than nothing. So I'm going to take advantage of that. And who knows, maybe he might really prove to be different than everyone else says.
