*******************************The next morning they hardly spoke to each other. As usual he made breakfast but for some reason it tasted the same yet bland to both.
Layal called and insisted that Janasvi goes shopping with her. She didn't resist much knowing she needed a change. When Janasvi told Rikhil about her plans he only nodded and she didn't push him too far either. He needed the peace.
Nate came along to pick her up. He dropped Layal and her outside a small house.
"Why are we here?"
"Please just come along." Layal pleaded.
As they walked up to the front door, Janasvi read the small sign on it. It read,
"Fortunes told by the best known Psychic."A psychic is a person who uses techniques and methods to predict the most likely future outcome.
"Layal... Do you seriously believe in this stuff?"
"You may not believe it but it works."
"I don't believe in this at all. I'll wait outside."
"No, just come along. At least just come along to listen."
"Fine."
A lady answered the door and ushered them into a dark room.
"Worried, aren't you?" A woman in the corner wearing a purple robe, surprised them.
"Yes." Layal said.
"Take a seat." She directed.
They did. Layal asked a few questions about her relationship with Nate and the lady replied saying that the one meant for her had already entered her life. The one's name starts with N.
I bet Layal knows a tonne of people whose names start with N. Layal didn't mention Nate's name though. So far.
"And what can you say about my friend's future?" Layal asked.
"Her future is very unclear. This is very unusual but it does happen in rare cases. This happens when there are multiple outcomes to major events in her life. Though It is dependent on the choices she makes. But for sure, her current relationship will bring a lot of pain and suffering, not only to her but her closed ones. I believe she's currently involved with someone who's name starts with R. " she looks up as if to cross check. "She seems to have been through a lot in her past and her past has always hindered her present. Her past will hinder her present in the future as well. I know she doesn't believe me but trust me, She will break a lot of hearts in her life. It won't be her fault but she will be blamed." She said looking down into her crystal ball. "Something else is here... Wait... Something.... Something is standing between her and her love. They will separate. They will. They have to. Their reunion is unclear but it could be because it isn't in the near future." She had a look of horror on her face.
"No..no!!! You're lying! I don't believe this." That was the last straw. Janasvi stood up and pushed everything off the table.
The psychic on the other hand remained calm as if she's used to this.
"I will show you that you are wrong." Janasvi stormed right out of there with Layal behind her.
Janasvi dug into her bag and found her AD. It took a few mins to cool off.
"Are you okay?" Nate came by her side and offered a water bottle. He'd been waiting in the car all along.
"Yeah." She took the water bottle and gulped the water down as if it were running away.
I don't know what happened to me in there. I'm not the person who was in there at all. Maybe the Tehja and AD stuff has gotten on my nerves.
" I just wanna go back to the apartment."
Nate nodded and they got into the car without another word. Layal apologized on the way but Janasvi was too messed up to talk so she only nodded.
Back at the apartment, Janasvi was alone. She had no idea where Rikhil had gone. She had a headache so lay on the bed for a nap but was soon fast asleep.
She suddenly had this memory of her mom on her lap saying goodbye after tying the chain around her neck. And then She has this memory of what happened to Jiya and Jisha. Then she sees Jisha, Samraat (her cousin), Vivian and herself sitting at a table in a cafe, laughing about something. And then, Rikhil walks up to Janasvi, pulls her off her chair and slaps her hard on the cheek. She looks up at him but doesn't say a word. She's trying so hard to keep her feelings within her. So hard not to cry. So hard not to just fall into his arms. Samraat walks forward to return his slap on Janasvi's behalf but She holds him back by his hand. By now the entire cafe had turned their attention to them.
"I never thought you'd turn out to be such a whore. I trusted you! And you?!? I'm ashamed that I fell in love with you. It's an abuse to my love to even say that it was for you. I never want to see your face again!"
For a moment Janasvi doesn't say anything, just looks at him in the eye trying to hide the pleading look in them. Then she looks away and says,
"You've made your choice.. "
"Are you sure about this," Jisha whispers putting a hand on her shoulder. Janasvi nods but she doesn't remove her hand in support of Janasvi's decision. Janasvi places her hand on Jisha's.
"And now that you've no respect for me, it's better we part ways and never see each other again." Janasvi says holding back her tears. She makes eye contact with him one last time but he seems to have made up his mind so She walks away while he turns and walks away in the opposite direction. They're walking away from each other and neither of them make the attempt to stop each other.
"Noooo! Stop! Don't leave!" Janasvi wakes up screaming into the darkness as Rikhil rushes over to her from the sofa he'd been sleeping on."What happened? Are you okay?"
He comes by her side and she immediately hugs him. "Hey... It's alright.. Relax... Let me fetch you some water."
"No!" She hugs him tighter. "Don't leave me. Please."
"Okay.. It's okay... I'm right here... It's just a bad dream." He coaxes, brushing her hair with his hands.
"Don't go anywhere.. Not even to the sofa. Sleep here tonight."
"Are you sure?"
"Yeah."
He slides in beside her and she hugs him, refusing to let go.
"You will never leave me, right?"
"Of course I won't, is that something to ask,"
She clings to him like super glue until she's fast asleep.
I've made up my mind. I'm going to prove everyone and everything wrong. I'm going to show them that this relationship will last. I don't want to separate from him. I love him.
