It's been 24 hrs since the doctor had operated on Janasvi. Once realization hit Rikhil of what had happened, He stood frozen, staring at Janasvi's body, laying there on the ground, motionless. Then he saw Rave and Shaz running towards Janasvi. He recovered from his frozen state and raced down all the flights of stairs, probably faster than Usain Bolt. They rushed Janasvi to the emergency ward of the hospital in Roy's car. Janasvi had to undergo an emergency neurological surgery. There was a 80-20 chance of survival along with a 48 hr observation wait. She was shifted to the intensive care unit after the surgery, under strict supervision. Rikhil looked at her through the glass window on the door. Tubes ran from machinery to her hands, her head, etc. She was wearing an oxygen mask. It hurt him so much to see her this way. Tears escaped his eyes and ran down his cheeks.
It's my fault. All my fault. How could I do this to her when I'd promised to wait till she was ready. How could I be so stupid.
He slapped himself, hard.
How could I not understand her needs?
Slap!
How could I overreact so much?
Slap!
How could I not see her pain?
Slap!Alarmed Rave came forward and began pulling him away from the door to sit. Now the tears ran like a waterfall.
"Rikhil, Rikhil, stop bruh." Rave attempted to get him to sit down.
"No, it's my fault she's in that state. Oh how could I do this to her." He couldn't hold the sobs back anymore. He sat down with his head buried in his hands.
"Look Rikhil, I don't know what happened between the 2 of you and honestly I don't want to know. It's between the two of you. But what's happened has happened, it's no point blaming yourself now."
Shaz came back from the cafe with a cup of coffee and offered it to Rikhil. He dismissed it with a wave of his hand.
"Rikhil, you have to be strong, atleast for Janasvi. Come on drink up."
He took the cup and gulped down the entire coffee in 1 round. He burnt his tongue but he couldn't care any less.
He heard a phone ring. He recognized it as Janasvi's. He took it out of his pocket and stared at it. The nurse had handed it to him when they were taking Janasvi inside.
Images of Janasvi flashed through his mind and He had to bite his lip to stop himself from breaking down again.
"Hello." Jisha said after a while.
"Hello." He was still biting his lip.
"Um.. Who is this? Rikhil? Where's Janasvi?"
"Jisha I'm so sorry, it's my fault. It's all my fault. I shouldn't have forced her. I lost control of myself. I'm sorry Jisha. I'm really really sorry. I'm sorry." He broke down completely.
"Rikhil? What happened Rikhil? Is she alright?"
"No. No. She's not. And it's all my fault." He couldn't care any less when the phone slowly slipped out of his hand and hit the floor.
Rave was rubbing his back as Shaz picked up the phone and informed Jisha of the current situation. He heard her talk about the 48 hr wait and the accident.
Rikhil stood up and excused himself to go to the washroom. Once in the men's room, He couldn't help letting his tears flow. He Stood facing the mirror.
"You! It's your fault. All your fault. You're a jinx. After all the pain she's been through, all you've done is put her through more pain. You don't deserve to be with her. After all the pain and suffering you caused to everyone." He Slammed his hand against the wall.
Then his stomach churned and He vomited all the contents of his stomach into the sink before He passed out.************************************
Rave started to get worried about how long his friend had been gone. He finally decided to go check. He told Shaz to stay around incase the doctor asks for something and left.He found Rikhil passed out near the bathroom door. He called nurses for help and shifted him to a bed. He was immediately put on drips. 3 hrs later he woke up asking for Janasvi. Rave was sitting on the chair provided in the room and stood up to call the doctor in to check on Rikhil. The doctor checked Rikhil's pulse, heart rate, etcetera and informed Rave that he was much better now but needed to rest.
Rave informed Rikhil that Janasvi was still under observation and hadn't yet regained consciousness. Rikhil insisted on seeing Janasvi so they guided him to Janasvi's room. They normally didn't allow visitors in the ICU but due to Rikhil's insistence, they gave him 5 mins with Janasvi.

Rikhil's POV:
I opened the door to the ICU and walked in. There she lay in front of my eyes, like an angel fallen from heaven. She looked so innocent, beautiful, stress free and so much more than just that, lying there. It took a moment for me to notice the tubes that ran all around her, the oxygen mask and the beeping machinery. My eyes filled with tears.I moved closer to her and sat on the stool beside the bed as I held her hand in mine.
"I'm sorry." I whispered. "Please come back. Don't leave me. I love you. Please, Jaan." Tears ran down my cheeks freely. "I'll accept whatever punishment you decide for me. Just don't leave me. Please." A tear fell from my cheek, onto the the back of her palm. She stirred. I stared at how tightly her hand had gripped mine.
"Rave. Doctor. She's awake. She's responding." Tears of joy ran down my cheeks.
