Hilo! I have updated a lot recently. I guess my creative flow is back! So, because you giraffes couldn't figure out who the heck that mystery girl was, I'll tell you... *mumbles* giraffes... 😂 yeah okay, so... Drumroll please? *pretends to hear drumroll* and the mystery character is... Basia Jura!!! Yeah, you had forgotten about her, hadn't you? In case you totally forgot, Basia Jura, now known as Interblast, "died" from Malaria in the second standard. Her body was never recovered. And now Interblast and Isabella are planning how to get out of Pyralis. And yay, Pyralis was finally mentioned. So, let me clarify to you confused souls. Pyralis means of fire. Celia means of the heavens. Nerezza is of darkness. Sylva means from the forest, and Undina means of the waves. Yup that's it of my long, explaining A/N. Here's chapter eleven (wow, eleven already?)!
Edit 10.17.16
STFU. I'm back to cringing and editing.October 30, early EARLY morning.
EGAES"Abigail Douglas, this is my last chance. After this, Ba-we are going to find our own way out of here." The dream told her.
"I listened to you once. And I made it clear that it would be the last time." Abigail replied angrily.
"You mean to say that you refuse to help us?" Isabella said, growing mad.
"I made that clear, didn't I?" She snapped. "I am done with your haunting me. I don't know how to 'find' you, and I won't anyways! Because you left me."
"I told you! I had no choice. But that's not relevant. I need you to remember the day I left, remember closely. Remember what I was holding?" She besieged.
"That old book, the one you hit me with?" Abigail accused.
"Yes, that one. And I am very sorry about that, you know?" Isabella apologized.
"But why do you need me to remember?" She asked, curiosity taking hold.
"Because. That is the only way out of this terrible place!" Isabella shrieked.
"Please! Just tell me where you are!" Abigail begged.
And for a moment, just a moment before the monster consumed her face and screeched, her face showed true, pure sadness, and remorse. Her eyes said 'I'm sorry.' And then her face contorted, her eyes becoming like cat's, her skin developing scaly texture, and her demeanor radiating vile, darkness. "PYRALIS. AND WE SHALL REMAIN HERE UNTIL DEATH!" Her voice was rough, this was not the Isabella from before, wanting to escape. The creature slashed at her stomach with talons, where her hands used to be.
"Who-what are you? She screamed, dwarfed by the creature formally known as Isabella. She held her arm, it was bleeding badly.
"I AM EMBERVILE! AND YOU SHALL NOT HELP US ESCAPE, WE SHALL NEVER LEAVE!"
"Leave me alone! Just go! I was willing to help Isabella, but not you, you-you monster!" Abigail said, closing her eyes. "Please, let this be over, let this be over, LEAVE ME BE!" She screamed.
Abigail awoke with a start. Tears were streaming down her face. She was shivering, so cold, but inside she felt like an inferno. She looked at her stomach, which stung from the nightmare's attack, and suddenly everything stopped. The deep scratch that was inflicted by Embervile, it was still there. And it was still bleeding. She felt lightheaded. "It was only a dream. I must have hurt myself in my sleep." She reassured herself. But inside, she knew that that was no dream, and that Isabella hadn't been haunting her. It was real. It was all real, and Isabella was alive, captured by this horrible creature who stole her name. And she was on Pyralis. But what did that book have to do with it? Her breathing accelerated. She was having a panic attack. She needed help. She jumped out of bed, still shivering, still lightheaded and dizzy, still bleeding, still terrified. She tossed on a sweatshirt and raced to the East Wing. (Remember who's staying in the East Wing? Who will comfort her?)
She sprinted to the room that read Scotland and France, then proceeded to knock, no more like bang on it.
"Max! Maxwell! Lukas! Someone open up!" She whisper-shouted into the door.
The door opened a crack. "Bloody-"
"Language, Lukas..." Maxwell mumbled out from inside.
"Right-sorry. What the heck, Abigail? It's two in the-" he broke off to yawn, "two in the morning..."
"Yes, so?" She said, her adrenaline powered by fear.
"Yes so it is TWO IN THE MORNING WHAT DO YOU NEED?" Maxwell broke in, shoving Lukas to the side.
"Max!" She breathed, releasing a sigh of relief. She enveloped him in a hug, resting her chin on his shoulder.
"Are you okay, Gail?" He asked, uncertain of her sanity.
"Yes, yes, I'm fine now," She mumbled, still hugging him. Her heart calmed and she just relaxed.
Is something going on? Lukas mouthed at him.
No. I'm confused too. Maxwell mouthed back.
Abigail finally pulled away from him. "Thanks, Max. I don't know what got into me. I just had this weird dream about Isabella, and she turned into a monster, and she wounded me. But when I woke up, I still had the... the..." Abigail proceeded to pass out due to blood loss.
As she began to fall, Maxwell caught her, then carried her over to his bed. He gently set her down.
"What did she mean? She still had the...?" Lukas questioned, worried.
"She said that the monster wounded her. I think, when she woke up, she still had the... the injury!" Maxwell realized.
"There's nothing wrong with her." Lukas peered at Abigail.
Maxwell sat down beside her. Suddenly, Abigail started shaking, shivering and convulsing.
"What do we do?" Lukas panicked.
"Get Tiberiu. He's the most with medical training. I'll at least...hold her still." He suggested.
"Yes. Yes, good idea." Lukas nodded, running out.
"Stay with me, Gail." Maxwell pleaded. He held her arms down, to stop them from flinging everywhere. "Hang on. Beri's coming. He'll know what to do." He reassured himself, as well as her. As he settled down, still leaning over her as a restraint, he came to another realization. That creature, the one that caused this, was real, and he felt like he had to protect her. Abigail was like his... sister, right? And that there was a high probability that there was poison flowing through her veins, in fact, that would explain why it caused this. And he realized that this would take more than Beri. He watched the color slowly drain from her face, and hoped that the girl next to him would still be a girl when morning arrives, and not a corpse.
Mwahaha Imma kill Abigail hate me yet? Well, I'm officially an evil author... And I'll make you die waiting for the next update. But you can kinda, barely see how Abigail is starting to feel something unknown for Maxwell, and the feeling is reciprocal. Remember, the last time they dealt with the opposite gender was before 1st Standard, and they had no romantic feels or thoughts WHATSOEVER. So they literally have no idea what to do, and neither do their friends. Oh and fun fact, Lukas and Maxwell are based off of real people! Lukas, my Belgian pen pal/neighbor of my uncle who I see when we visit him, is also really funny, though not a smart alec jerk like book Lukas. (And when I saw him last year, he had gotten really cute!!! He's a year older than me, and can actually speak French, like his book self!) As for Maxwell, I can't tell you who he's based off of, because he's the guy I like, and some of you know him. But he's really nice, sweet, and funny. And yes, he lives in the US. Anyway, that's all for today, I'll consider not killing Abigail, but ya know, she may be dead tomorrow!
Love you thanks for reading you giraffes!
I. Would. Love. Feedback. I. Don't. Bite!!!
