Husbands Over Flowers

Chapter 12

Christmas eve dawned bright and snowy, and Jae Ri woke excitedly.
"I have to hurry and weave in those yarn ends on Jagi's scarf, and bake those cookies, wrap his gifts...." She muttered to herself as she got dressed and turned on one of her favorite group's music, SHINee. In addition to the scarf, she was making him some Christmas candy, and had bought him a new tie. There was a knock on the door;
"Who is it?" Jae Ri called.

"Your boyfriend." He called back. Jae Ri gasped and hurriedly bundled the almost finished scarf up and hid it in the closet before switching the music off, and running over to open the door. Jihoo met her with a kiss on her forehead and asked,

"Something wrong?"

"Oh nothing, Jagi......To be honest, I was doing some last minute work on your gift."

"Aww, youre too sweet." He said, poking her nose teasingly. "What were you listening to?"

"Oh, n-nothing..." She said, blushing and hiding the mp3 player behind her back.

"Oh come on, I wanna know what kind of music you like!" He said, laughing as he gently took it from her hand and looked at the song.

"View by SHINee? They're pretty good, but I'm more of a Bigbang kind of guy." Jihoo said, looking through her songs. Jae Ri's face lit up and she started jumping up and down in excitement.

"You like Bigbang?! They were my first idol group! I used to say I was going to marry Daesung." She said, giggling at the look on Jihoo's face; "That was before I met you, of course." She finished, kissing him sweetly.

"Woah, how have I never met this Idol stan side of you? You seem to really love Idol music." Jihoo said, leaning back to look her in the eyes.

"O-oh...Well, um... Everyone I've ever told about it has teased me for it, so its become kind of a guilty pleasure...." Jae Ri said, taking a step back and looking at the floor. Jihoo wrapped her in an embrace and told her;

"Don't you ever feel ashamed of something that makes you happy. From what I can see, Idol music makes you extremely happy, so enjoy it all you wish, and don't worry about what anyone else has to say." Jae Ri just smiled into his chest.
"Do you want to go grab an early lunch with me?" Jihoo asked.

"Sure Jagi." Jae Ri said, happily skipping across the room to grab her purse and took Jihoo's arm and exited with him.

"W-what?! Jihoo, you didn't s-......spend the night, did you??" Jun Pyo asked, startled as he had happened to be walking by as they exited Jae Ri's room.

"Calm down, Jun Pyo. Of course I didn't, I just came to take Jae Ri to an early lunch." Jihoo said, laughing slightly at his friend's hurried conclusion.

"Okay....but understand, I'm keeping an eye on you two from now on! I wanted you to fall in love, but I didn't anticipate it being such a nuisance..." He muttered while continuing on his way. "Early lunch... I should take Jan Di out for early lunch...."
The couple laughed as they left.

"Mmm, that was delicious. Thank you Jagi." Jae Ri said, kissing Jihoo on the cheek as they walked around the outdoor market.

"It was nothing, Jagi. Thank you from coming with me." He said, returning the kiss.

"My, are you two married?" An older lady asked as they passed her flower stand.

"Oh, no, sunbaenim." Jae Ri said, bowing.

"You two are a very good looking couple!...Here, take this." She said, plucking two roses from the stand and handing them to her; "Remember my stand, I do wedding arrangements as well." She said, winking at her.

"O-oh, thank you so much sunbaenim! We will!" Jae Ri said, giggling as she affixed one of the roses to the lapel of Jihoo's jacket.

"Thank you very much, sunbaenim." Jihoo said. As they walked on, he asked Jae Ri; "Do you think we will?"

"We will what?" Jae Ri said, sniffing the roses delightedly.

"Get.... Married." He said, stopping. Jae Ri blushed brightly.

"I....I like to think...we will...." She said shyly.

"Do you love me enough to want to spend your life with me?" He asked her, looking into her eyes. "No, I'm sorry, you don't have to answer that. Its too soon for me to ask something so serious. I apologize." He said hurriedly, blushing.

"No, its fine. Jihoo-oppa...... The few months I have spent with you have been the happiest of my life. While I don't think we are quite ready for marriage, I am very deeply in love with you. If I were to marry anyone, you would be my first choice." She said, stretching up on her tip toes to kiss him. When she pulled away, he had a huge smile.

"You really mean that? I am deeply in love with you as well, Jae Ri. I hope it's not too long till we are ready for marriage." He said, kissing her again.
