Chapter 17

"Just think, half a year ago I was flying to Seoul on my own. Now I'm flying home, with you, Jagi." Jae Ri said, putting her head on Jihoo's shoulder.
"....Do you think your mother will approve of me?" Jihoo asked, frowning slightly.
"Of course, Jihoo! Once she sees how much I care for you, she can't deny you." Jae Ri said, kissing his cheek.
"If you say so. Anyway, get some rest while you can. We'll be touching down soon, and I'm not wasting a minute before asking for your hand." Jihoo said, smiling as he grasped her hand.

"Eomma!! How are you?" Jae Ri asked, running into her mother's arms as Jihoo stood back shyly.
"Too be quite honest, I have been better. I am much better now that I've seen you. And your beau you've told me so much about!" She said, laughing as she lead them to the sitting room. 
"Hello, Eomma-nim." Jihoo said, bowing; "I hope you've heard nothing but good things."
"Well aren't you a gentleman! And a doctor too..... My Jae Ri did a good job."
"I-its not like that!" Jae Ri said, blushing. "I love him, eomma. Not his job, or his money. I love him." She said, looking Jihoo in the eyes.
"That brings us around to one of the reasons for this visit, Eomma-nim." Jihoo said, kneeling at her feet and taking her hand.
"I truly love Jae Ri, and I believe she loves me too. I came here to ask for your permission to make her my wife." Her eomma wiped a tear from her eye, and replied;
"How could I say no to someone who truly loves her? Believe her words. She's never idly bestowed her affection. I wish you all the happiness in the world." She stood to embrace her son in law to be.

After spending a few days with her mother, Jae Ri and Jihoo boarded a plane back to Seoul.
"By the way, Jae Ri? You don't have to worry about your mother anymore."
"Why is that?" She asked, craning to look at him.
"She's my family now. I take care of my family." He said simply.

When they arrived in Seoul, they decided to take a walk together, to unwind from all that has been happening.
"Jae Ri?"
"Yes, Jihoo?"
"I may not have been able to give you a romantic surprise proposal, but I really love you and want to start our lives together. So formally this time. Jae Ri, will you marry me?"
"Yes, Jihoo. I will marry you." Jae Ri smiled widely and kissed him, and he slid the ring on her finger.

"Jan do? Can you and Jun Pyo and the boys come to the sitting room for a bit?" Jae Ri asked.
"Yes of course. Whats happening?" Jan Di asked, going to get them.
"You'll see." Jae Ri replied coyly.

"Everyone, we would like to tell you something. During our trip to see Jae Ri's mother, I asked a very important question. And to my utter joy, she has accepted me. We are engaged to be married." Jihoo said, beaming. Ga Eul and Jan Di squealed and ran to Jae Ri while the boys sat there dumbfounded.
"You're actually getting married? I joked about this for so long... I can't believe you're actually getting married!!" Jun Pyo said, hugging Jihoo and Jae Ri at the same time.
"Yes." Jae Ri said, looking up at her fiancé;"I can't believe it either. I'm very lucky to have him."
