The next morning I get up and stuff my backpack with clothes. When it’s full I zip it up put my phone and wallet in my backpack’s side zipper. Then I strip and shift. Before leaving the room I pick up my backpack in my teeth.
I get to the room next to mine and knock my tail on the door. Dante answers with a sour face. “Yea I’m already to go. Now can we get outta here?”
I huff and head down the stairs. ‘Yeah come on.’
My wolf growled at me in my head but I ignored her. I’m the not one who threw a fit about having my own room. I’m the one who wanted to try and get comfortable with my mate. But mister big and bad had to have his own room all to himself.
Dante follows me down the stairs a moment later in his wolf. Once outside we headed to the border closest to Tomas’s and Nime’s cave. Wiley appeared right as we were fixing to cross the border.
I sighed and looked at Wiley. Wiley shook his head. ‘I want you to call if you need any extra help. I don’t care if Wulfric or Willshay kick me out of the pack. I’ll help anyways. Just call.’
Dante steps in front of me. ‘Thanks for the offer, Omega. We have business to deal with right now.’
My jaw drops open and Wiley growls. ‘Thanks for telling me something I already knew. Sad that you’re supposed to be her mate. I wish you luck Tiffany, with your pack and your newest asshole.’
Wiley quickly turned and left as Dante growled. I turned to Dante and growled. ‘He is my friend and even if he can’t do much as least he offered. It’s the thought that counts.’
Dante rolled his eyes and started walking again. I followed behind and sighed.
After a little while we arrived at the cave. A tiny grey wolf appeared and growled at us.
Dante bowed his head a little. ‘Miss Nicole, you have grown. And your wolf does show your slyness. We’re here to speak with your parents.’
The little wolf tilted her head and gave a wide wolf grin. ‘They are in the kitchen, talking, Dante.’
Dante nodded and we went into the cave and down into the kitchen. Nime was sitting at the table and a man in his late twenties sits across from her. I guess him to be Tomas. He skin is a dark tan and his hair is brown and shaved. His eyes are a muddy brown.
I bow my head and smile. ‘Hello Nime, hello Tomas.’
They both greet us. Dante sits and looks at Tomas. ‘So what have you decided?’
Tomas sighs. “We can’t go right now. Bella came down sick last night and my brother needs me elsewhere. I’m sorry. If you do end up needed us anyways, call us and we will figure something out.”
Dante sighs and nodds. ‘It’s ok. I hope Bella gets better. She hasn’t shifted yet has she?’
Nime shakes her head. “Bella is the youngest remember? She’s only 12. Nicole has only been shifted for a year.”
I tilt my head. ‘Quick question? How do you get out of here if you’re not shifted?’
Tomas laughs. “The last door of the red hallway isn’t a room. It’s our other exit. But we keep it locked to keep out any unwanted guests.”
I nodd. I felt like an idiot now.
Dante shakes his head. ‘Well I guess we must get going. We have each other’s number if we need them.’
We leave after goodbyes and Dante leads us north.
I huff. ‘We can take a plane and be there must easier and quicker. Otherwise we will have to walk all the way around the other packs to the southern border of them so we can get in without issues.’
