I wasn't always the nicest, but at least I knew how to let down a girl after she confessed to me. Clearly, Hansol lacked that tremendously.
"Listen, I've b-been watching you for s-some time and..." The girl didn't even finish and I had already felt bad for her. Hansol motioned for her to stop.
Now, I don't know how I ended up behind the bushes listening to a confession. But, I can proudly say it wasn't on purpose. If anything, it was by mistake. Hansol and I were playing hide and go seek during break. That led to this, sadly. I really wanted to finish my game of hide and seek.
"Listen, I don't like you. I never will. Not because you're ugly or anything, I just have someone in mind right now. So, I'd appreciate if you stopped bothering me." My jaw dropped, and I couldn't help but want to laugh. He sounded like the perfect douche in an anime right now. "You're horrible!" She screeched, running away.
Now that's when I couldn't hold it in. I began to laugh and tears left my eyes. "Should've recorded this!" I couldn't help but laugh my butt off. It was so intense, I almost fell on my face. "Joshua! You're being a real jerk right now!" Hansol whined, frowning at me. I shrugged it off, still laughing a bit.
"Sorry man, but this was priceless, bro you hilarious." Speaking in English with Hansol always relaxed me. I missed home lots of times and Hansol just always gave me a reason to not go back: Him.
I came here when I was a second year in middle school. A total newbie, and Hansol was in his last year of elementary. But that didn't stop the friendly boy from talking to me in English and telling me all about how he was American-Korean. Oh, and let's not get started on all of his lessons. He would even put on glasses and teach me things he thought I didn't know. So I'd play along for the boy.
"Yeah, just like your face will be if you keep this up." He said, playfulness in his tone. I smirked, scoffing. "Is that a threat I hear?" He nodded, a smirk playing on his lips as well. "Well, let's see if you act on it." Of course Hansol would smile after I said this. He shrugged before tackling me into the grass. If anyone were to pass by, it'd look like a lover's quarrel ending up in happiness. He was laughing and so was I. He was on top of me, smiling. "I win!" He exclaimed, flicking my forehead.
Ever so slowly, I don't know why but I ruffled his hair and he pecked me on the forehead. I smiled and ruffled his hair even more. Passing by was Jeonghan, hand in hand with Seungcheol. "Get a room, would you?" Jeonghan sounded so annoyed, it brought me satisfaction. "We're not doing anything smart ass," the younger boy sassed, doing so before I could say anything. I smiled getting up, as did Hansol. We waved bye bye and walked hand in hand to the cafeteria.
"You won whatever we were doing back there, but I win hide and seek, you took too long."
"Course." Was all Hansol replied.
